I never thought about planting Verbena. Thanks William & Carole. I might give that a try! Your little males there, sure are fancy-throated❤ I love all of the gemstones they adorn. Thank you for making my Sunday special.❤❤❤

That one little juvenile male with the single feather growing on his neck looks like one of my little bullybirdies from this past fall. Am wondering if that is him! If so, I'm glad he is safe and well taken care of so he can return to me next spring! I MISS them!❤

Of course these are my Ruby Throats!! I had lots of juvies this past season, so I claim these hummers!... particularly because my region only gets Ruby Throats!! Happy Hummer Winter Season to All!! 😊❤

Aaaw, I miss the rubies! They were so beautiful and quite good at sharing the nectar compared to the male black chins near me.

How spoiled is WIlliam that he not only has year round hummers, but his new arrivals pour in for the winter, too! Interesting that the feeder-obsessed Ruby-throats revert back to their flowery ways while on winter vacation instead of going directly to feeders as they're used to in summer.

Hi. My rufous have yet to leave they're still hanging here in San Diego and breeding. Lol!
@HummingbirdSpotАй бұрын
Great you have hummingbirds all year round in San Diego. Your hummingbirds are probably Allen's Hummingbirds rather than Rufous. Rufous breed in the northern US and Canada, all the way up to Alaska. Our southern Allen's Hummingbirds look very similar to the Rufous. Sometimes the only way you can tell the difference is by subtle differences in the spread tail. If your hummingbirds have mostly green upper backs, they are likely Allen's. Happy hummingbirdig!

@HummingbirdSpot oh yeah, they're tiny but mighty aggressive. They've chased the Anna's away. I added more feeders around my yard to provide Anna's another feeding area

If you see a female with a single white feather on her forehead please lmk! She passed through here in Bryan, TX & I’m wondering where she went on to. ❤
