However, if he really wanted to enter, he should have arranged for a finding of rehabilitation. There is a “good character” requirement for foreign visitors to enter Australia under Section 501 of the Migration Act. He met the definition of a substantial criminal record which is counter to good character.

At first I was inclined to allow the guy to enter the country, but his growing aggression alerted me to the fact that he may be inclined toward violence if confronted - perhaps, with his brother whom he hasn't seen in 14 years...WHY hasn't he seen him for so long? Is there a rift between them? A score to settle since the death of his wife? Too risky to allow him to enter. As for the Asian men with the same itinerary but initially not acknowledging each other - it occurred to me that they might be a gay couple, but not "out" and not wanting to present themselves as intimate.

Considering he hasn't seen his brother in 14 years from Luke's behavior I doubt his brother wants to see him. When my mother in law passed away at the family dinner afterwards 2 of my sister in laws did the most horrible screaming fit at the sil that had taken care of her. We had nothing to do with them and they moved 3 hours away. 4 years ago my husband got seriously sick I only messaged our children because I had my hands full 90 miles away. They kept everyone updated daily. The day after he died the 2 sister in laws attacked us on fb not keeping them updated on his health. I informed them they could have seen it on fb. I told them if they showed up at the funeral and through a fit again I would have had them arrested. The last person you need to show up when you lost your spouse is anyone intolerable. He's been gone 4 years and still none of our family will have anything to do with them. My sister in law they attacked never got married or had kids and she's a special part of our family.
