Do I need the AV our put cables to transfer footage to my computer? I just purchased one on eBay without them but it has the charging dock. Thanks in advance !

If you have the charging dock, that should be all you need, I didn't so I just used the AV output cables.

I would recommend one, I didn't have one on hand so I couldn't try it out. The converter I used in this video lowered the potential quality of the final output, but it got the job done.

Pull the card out and stick it in a card reader and plug it in your ipad

USB 2.0 Video Conversion by VIDBOX, it's around $60. I'd recommend the dock but I don't have one to verify if the quality is better.
