@jesslikescoffee243 ай бұрын
Towards the end you mention being good at the business stuff, negotiating contracts, etc. Where does that come from? Is that parental influence growing up, peer influence from seeing people around you do well (or not), advice you got from CPAs and such, or something else entirely?
@JUSTPIX3L3 ай бұрын
The sponsor deal stuff at the end was an interesting insight, be curious to know, if you can share. But how do you do it with your own label and paying the artists etc for their music to distribute. Is there things you learned along the way either good or bad that influences that side of things?

you got no idea how important your real talk videos were for my late middle/early high school life. I remember watching your "first day of school" COD4 commentary video before starting HS and it meant a lot. Started watching you during season 1 of Mianite when CaptainSparklez joined, and I was in middle school then, now I pay bills! Thank you for more than 10 years of content. I tune in whenever I can to your streams but I usually work so I can't always catch them. But I'll be around just like I've been for a decade now. Much love, Tuck.

@iijeriichoii you probably have given it a lot of thought, but you definitely were a role model for a lot of the teen boys that grew up with youtube around 2012-2018! You also helped me avoid the surge of gamergate stuff back then too, and I felt your community was and still is very welcoming and accepting of people with different backgrounds. You also worked with Moore Kismet and that meant a lot to me! I know you're older but I really am proud of the dude you are and how much you've accomplished the last 15 years. Definitely inspiring for your audience and people around you! ok enough para-social talk. Thanks again tuck

I Haven't been here for as long as most of the people who are still around watching, probably around the middle of CS competitive series, and ever since then you have been by far my favorite content creator, as stupid as it may sound your content genuenly did and continues to help me in my life in many ways, the genuine passion that is behind all the content to this day is unmatched and it is truly a motivational thing. When you started Nightmode i immediately fell in love with the style and aesthetic of it all, and it motivated me to actually create things when i was at a low point in my life, the motivation boost i got is still around and i cannot thank you enough. Your content might not be full of fancy edits or any "meta" things but it is still the most entertaining content out there, and it very often makes me laugh so hard i cry. i Hope you continue creating content for us for a long time, and i hope everything you venture into is successful and brings you happiness. i know this paragraph is a cheesy mess of garbage but i just want you to know that your content is making atleast one person's life much better every day, Thank you.

I'm proud to watch you follow your dreams, watching you come up with bigger and better ideas, and watch the whole life of Griz (RIP The boy). You and your humor are the cornerstone of my life. I love your content and I love your vibe, you are entirely the reason I have the taste in music that I have. Your old soundcloud playlists like Feels Good, Whole Lotta House, gotta go fast etc. is the reason I listen to the music I do today. Seeing what you do with NIGHTMODE now is an honest inspiration and seeing you talk about the journey up to then really shows that sometimes dreams can become a reality. You are directly responsible for why I DJ now and your label is why I have spent the last couple years trying(badly) to make music. If I ever do end up making anything decent you can expect me in the NIGHTMODE inbox hoping it is good enough to work with your label. Love everything you have done and looking forward to seeing what you will do

Hey! Awesome video & of course I made it all the way through. You hit it exactly on the head with that nostalgia point for me. You ARE that old movie and my family's go-to eat-out spot growing up - but unlike those things & places, what has kept me coming back for more than just a check-in over the years is that your content has grown up with me. You hooked me WAY back in 2015 (15 years old), but as you have changed your content to better appeal to your peers and values, it has continued to appeal to me as I've grown up. I'm 24 now and still loving to see your updates. I don't have the same time or desire for gaming content that I once did, but I'll sure as shit watch a 2 hour HEATER talking about real life updates. Thanks for your continued contribution to my entertainment. I miss shitty cooking, but I fortunately don't have to miss your videos altogether, because you got that love of the game. One question for you since you're open to them: What happened to the house you bought in Oregon? You mentioned it was a good and bad decision, but I never got closure on it from the video. I'm at a rent-or-down-payment kind of crossroads right now, so I'm curious :)

In every metric of “good idea” it was a failure. Spent 8 months, GIANT house for no reason, suburb, family neighborhood etc. Rented it out to streamers after I left and they literally destroyed it. $20k in repairs / mold removal / carpet / etc. the house was 3 years old!! Good in that it doubled in value since I got it. If not for that, would have been the single worst decision I’ve made lol

It's crazy to think how far video games have come as a result of the proliferation of the culture from KZbin and other media platforms. I remember watching guys like you, Seananners, Hutch, Woody, Sark, and Tejbz and being mind blown at how good you guys were and feeling like I had a place that understood the passion and enjoyment I felt for video games. Back in a time where it seemed like there wasn't even a quarter as many people as there are now who know about and love video games. Its so cool to see so many of those people whose content I enjoyed at 13-14 years old back in 2009 still making content today and carrying forward that passion and enjoyment. Glad to see you're still making content and bringing that passion for it and video games to our screens on a regular basis 15 years later.

You're still you, and yeah maybe you don't have 200 million followers but man it's been 15 years and you're one of the people i still regularly watch every week and actually enjoy. The more recent stuff with Nightmode have been super fun to follow too, the music slaps and it's great to see you doing stuff you genuinely love rather than turning into a soulless brand. I also remember watching your cod4/mianite commentaries before and after school on the bus when i had nothing to do and no one else to keep me company. thanks for what you've done for all of us and for the great memories, man :)

As someone who's been watching you since close to your begining on KZbin, I have enjoyed the majority of the content you have put out. As long as you keep putting out content that you're happy with and you're happy doing it, I'll still be here on YT and on Twitch. Keep'em coming GOAT.

Can’t believe I watched 2 hours and want more but that’s just your content man. Been watching for over a decade and have always been a fan. Would love to see a video on the night mode career and where you are trying to go with it. Also I lost it when you brought up “he’s barrel!!!!” I’ll still go back and watch that video. Much love man and hope you keep doing what makes you happy!

So much Jericho lore, I only joined in around 2017 or so after you appeared in one or two funhaus videos. Thought you were pretty funny and wanted to check you out, been watching ever since. What a crazy journey man, heres hoping to many more. Keep rocking.

This video was such a treat. Fun to think back to where I was in my life while watching you during these periods in your career. Probably doesn't mean much but I'm proud of what you've accomplished thus far especially with NIGHTMODE, its just so damn cool to see. Your content has been one of the most consistent things in my life since middle school and I'm a married man now. Thank you for all of the laughs, wisdom, and content that you have shared all of these years. Looking forward to many more

Weird to see, from Machinima video days to you all at the Gamershore and thinking how crazy it would be to get to be one of you guys. i lasted all the way to CSGO and twitch era before my life started getting fast paced and out of sight of as many channels. its crazy how time flies. congrats on all the successes and journeys through the years

Been here from almost the start. Around 2011. It took me basically 3 days to get through this whole video because you would mention something and a FLOOD of memories would come back to me and I'd spend HOURS searching to see if I could find any scrap of those memories still online somewhere. Thank you Tucker this has been a fun few nights reliving some memories that were buried deep. This video was also a really cool insight into the backstory of what I saw growing up watching all of yall and seeing the PAX footage absolutely sent me. Really great video.

I havent had a chance to watch this whole video just yet but i wanted to say thank you Tucker, thank you for being consistent to who you are. I've been watching your content for damn near 14 (i think) of your years here, from the black ops 2 master prestige races in your first LA apt (with the bowl cut we wont forget) to your slow burning growing addiction to cs (as my own addiction to cs has grown in paralell, hit 7k hrs this year). At one point i think my 14 yr old self briefly wanted a bowl cut, but that coulda been cos of smosh too lmaoo. I remember in 2016 you trying out the destiny 2 beta on pc and saying it was good, which pushed me back to it. was always a huge destiny fan but 2016-17 was peak csgo tryhard for me. I really appreciate your consistency and just honest genuine self, so many youtubers turn into some slop grifter cos it earns them more, and so many from the early days on youtube turned out to be terrible, yet you never once went that way. You always followed your own path. I've never had the drive to make my own content or stream aside from the occasional fragmovie or videogame funny moments mostly for my friends and myself, but each time i sit down to try and make someting i think of how you inspired me to even try to do it, even if it didnt go anywhere. Hell i started learning to edit using sony movie studio cos of an offhand comment about it being a cheap version from someone during the master prestege races (i of course use premiere now for my once a decade video). I dont really have anything else to add that others havent said, you helped me through high highs and low lows, from when i was a kid figuring out middle-high school to college to whatever the fuck i am now. would love to queue some horrible 15k elo cs w you one day but totally understandable if not, my actual question is sort of a two parter, what are some videogames you want to make content on but feel an adversion to doing so? I'd love to see you play more elden ring on main or hell even check out how modern destiny2 is (wishful thinking i know). Heres to another 15 my man, we love you.

Genuinely my favorite and most watched content creator period. From sports games, flight sims, cs overwatch, horror games, minecraft, hell, even just yapping with Tim in a R6 lobby, you always have brought a smile to my face when I have needed it most. I'm 21 right now, and I can confidently say that Tucker has been a big part of my upbringing for the last 10 years. Other creators have come and gone with my changing interests, but Tucker has never failed to make me laugh. Thank you for not only what you have done for me without knowing it, but for this platform. The internet is a much better place with you on it. I've been so proud to see your growth over the last decade, not only content-wise but as a person. Despite that growth, you've always been Tucker. Congratulations on all of your successes so far, and I can't wait to watch more!

Oh wow.. this has been quite the ride! Love the content, on both channels and on Twitch. Your DDLC stream was my only bookmarked twitch link/VOD ever and I am so glad there´s a saved copy on KZbin. Don´t forget that the original file does not remain once you use the Cut function, heh. I love how you conveyed the journey, from pure excitement, curiosity and (self-admitted) attention seeking to now doing what you want because you can and not having to do things that you don´t need to. I feel like this.. blissful enjoyment of work (hobby? companionship?) is something a lot of people strive for, esp if retirement is still ways away. Hearing the long road and the hoops you´ve gone through (like you lawyering up from all your savings to save yourself) - definitely earned it. This is the first time I´ve heard of you and Tmartn having history together, noticed you two on a "same people you follow" list but thought that was just general KZbin networking! I hope to see another long content video based on friendships (and perhaps even a few enemies..?) made over the year. So my unrelated one question is - do you still meet up after all these years and have Cooper&Koda received treats from uncle Tucker? P.S Sorry for the wall of text but like many others here have said already, you´ve had a positive effect on another life across the pond, so besides chasing the bag, hope you get an extra helping of warm fuzzy feels. Keep doing what you love

Keep it up, you are amazing and so many of us appreciate your hard work and effort that you put forth towards making amazing content. Love you Tucker

Hi Tucker, this is such a well made video! The length at first seemed discouraging but you really managed to tell your fascinating tale of being a youtuber during the early days. For me it was very nostalgic hearing about the old call of duty commentator days. It was cool to get to know a more behind the scenes perspective on the choices you had to make with the stakes involved. During that time I was also a child so the life you guys were living seemed like a dream, but now having gained some perspective I see the stress that was involved with the job. So thank you again for your commitment and goodluck with your future adventures. Cheers from the Netherlands.

An absolutely incredible run, so far, that I am very happy to be witnessing. I have watched your content change all through stream and admittedly, I hardly watch the KZbin videos, but I've seen all the content already so it makes sense. Either way, the evolution of content and yourself has been a joy to watch. I love that you are content with your content because to me your content is the best it's ever been, no question. Forgive me as my memory is very hazy in the 2018-early 2020 time period, but I swear there was a show, a weekly show, perhaps it was premium internet, that every Friday you did. Wait, writing this make me think that maybe it was Zillow Gone Wild and whatever else came with that. Either way, that time was very rough for me and the daily streams, but that one weekly stream, such as Content Farm today, was the highlight of my weeks for a while. I could never imagine Twitch without you and I'm glad to watch your ass become an old man as I do myself. Almost to 76 months on Twitch and no plans to stop. Great video!

I think you're the only youtuber/streamer that has given this info on brand deals stuff (behind the scenes and money wise), from your perspective (a normal real dude, not just a persona) I've been watching since your bonera / csgo overwatch days, pretty funny stuff or real talk stuff like mind of a silver, always liked your content, man keep being yourself, thank you for entertaining us!!!

The early days of KZbin were like the Wild West. I started making Minecraft videos on my iPad using a sketchy app to record it directly. Half the time, the app froze or soft-locked my iPad. No Minecraft youtube would ever explain how to download and install mods on the computer, which may or may not have led to me getting viruses from the adfly ads. I subbed to you on Twitch during the first Mianite season and still watch you daily. I am getting my Doctorate in Psychology now Dad, and you have helped me on hard times to just get through those moments. I still look forward to watching the live streams. Great video Tucker.
