Honestly, Looking for Alaska is my favorite book of all time. I've read it so much it's tearing at the seams. I watched the Hulu adaptation and cried just as hard

@@kaitlynsheinhartz967 Overall I have to say it was okay. I mean I don't do well with endings like that. And the smoking and all that in my opinion were unnecessary throughout the entire book. But it was okay . Yet anyway loved the pranks. Even though the overall book was okay for me I feel that there was sth huge missing from it. Something I can't point to. I might be the only person in the entire world who didn't get to love the book the way that I wanted to love it. I mean I had this book with me for ages and I kept struggling with it. For me it's hard to point out what's exactly wrong with it , it's more like a "I wanted to feel more out of this book kinda feeling" .And I think Alaska deserved a better ending. I mean after going through all of that, if that was me I don't think I would've mentally survived. Being a person (like any other human being on the planet) that relies on books to feel better inside ,to just escape this world for awhile, for that short period of time from start to finish ,I just didn't feel that feeling I usually get while reading books. Maybe it's just me or the time when I read it or the book. Something was off for me

John, the geographical term you're looking for is "Nordic."
@galli05 жыл бұрын
Or Scandinavian, they contain different countries, tho generally Finland isnt considered Scandinavian so maybe Nordic is better..🤷♀️

'Fennoscandian' is also appropriate, and fun to say.

@@Birdfreak2010 I learned this from the 'Scandinavia and the World' web comic XD They talk a bunch about the ways Finland doesn't count, it's a running joke. Although they are still considered a Nordic country, OP is right. (Nordic really just means northern, so it's kind of a geographic term instead of a cultural one like Scandinavian)

For those young ones out there, "Check your local listings" is what the TV announcer would say so you to tune into the advertised show. When it was on. When the TV people played it for you. You couldn't choose when it played. Back when streaming service meant a group of people who decorated rooms for parties.

As someone who read this book during my freshman year, and then revisited it my senior (two drastically different people in those four years) and loved it and bawled for hours after finishing it both times, I can't express how thrilled I am for this.

by the end of the series, I felt like I had lived all these events with the characters like I knew them so having Alaska die really had a big impact while watching the series which just shows how well the book and the series was put together and made definitely is one of my favourite series now and definitely won't forget about it. in a way, I wanted there to be more but I feel that it ended very well even if it was a very sad ending and I was expecting to see Alaska reappear to be still alive at the end but yea noticing that wasn't gonna happen and that she really died really hit home and was hard.

I'm just so incredibly glad that you have been able to be a part of, and, perhaps more importantly, always genuinely like and are excited about the adaptations of your books. I have always been a strict enforcer of the rule "if the book came first, read the book first," but I can't make sure every person on earth follows my rule. Knowing the author of some of my favorite novels fully supports and enjoys the adaptations of them makes me feel so much better about all the people who won't read the book.
