History of this world:
This survival series started on July 10th 2014 on the MCPE (Minecraft Pocket Edition) App. I had quite a few MCPE videos before this series that I recorded and edited on the iPod 4th Generation. When I finally upgraded to the iPhone 5, this was when I wanted to start a Minecraft series that will last forever! I started this series on the iPhone 5 and eventually upgraded again to the iPhone 6 Plus for more power on Ep.66. MCPE on the iPhone 6 Plus served me well for a long time until the game started updating more and became even slower. This was until I bought myself a gaming laptop (Lenovo Y700) and transferred my ongoing MCPE world to Windows 10 Edition on Ep.154. Till this day, we are still surviving and thriving with builds in this world and plan to do so far into the future!

Maybe I’m just speaking for myself when I say that I love the fact that you have stuck with your video style for this long. I personally feel like it’s the reason I keep coming back and watch these videos, they are so reliable. You have become one of my favorite KZbinrs because of the fact that you have always been yourself with these videos, unwavering when it comes to following trends and doing what everyone else is doing. Anytime I watch these videos I always get super inspired to play Minecraft again because you remind me to just play Minecraft how I want to play and not need to impress anyone but myself. Thank you Dallas!! -Ten

I agree. Part of the reason Dallas has such a loyal fanbase is that is because he has had an LP world for such a long time now and he doesn't really sell himself to trends just to get more views. One of my favorite Minecraft KZbinrs is starting to lose me because of his newfound preference to more clickbait titles and over-the-top editing that doesn't really blend well with Minecraft LPs. He is more energetic now, but I fear it's to maintain attention spans rather than because he is genuinely enjoying his modern videos more (Not to point fingers but in case you're wondering the KZbinr's name that I was talking about is called Wattles). I wish Dallas to not convert to modern-style Minecraft videos, but I guess that's part of the sacrifice when you make KZbin video for a job. Nonetheless, I'm excited for the Island soft reset episode next, and I've probably been talking for too long, so I'll end it here.

It makes me sad to hear you say that you acknowledge your channel is dying. Yes, you’re not getting that many views compared to Etho, but to me (us) you are unique in many ways too! I know exactly when I started watching you, but not the exact episode number, but I think it’s somewhere in the time span of the last 2.5 year-ish. The amount of episodes that I missed from that time onwards are probably less than 15 or so. I always try to watch you because imo you’re one of the funniest guy that also matches my personality in terms of how you talk and the jokes you make. Your episodes are shorter than average, but hey, what’s the issue with that. You also said it in your video already: you shouldn’t compare yourself to other KZbinrs. That already makes you unique in many ways

Hey dude, I'm actually someone who found your channel recently (2023) after getting into old Pocket Edition versions, whilst having been a Java player since 2014 or so. I kinda watched off and on for a little bit, getting interested in older videos as well as newer ones, especially the old laptop unboxings for the 860m and 960m laptops, as around that era gaming laptops were so cool to me lmao. After a while, I started watching every new main LP episode, and haven't stopped since. If you're wondering what you have going for you, atm algorithmically I'd honestly say not much, but your world just has so much personality, as well as visible age that it's hard not to get invested. Your approach to changing things up every now and then in the world, as well as say, using Iron Tools for part of an episode, reminds me of how I like to play my current long term Java world, and its fun ig to watch someone with a deep connection to the game explore it in their own way, without the crazy edits and pre-written drama. The views decline has to be rough in a way, but I'd say just take risks dude. F*** it. You want to do some face cam and leave your base you've had for almost a decade? Go for it. You want to quit it all together and maybe just post random biking vids or vlogs? Go for it. People follow the human, you just have to see what it is you want that human to represent online. I have high hopes for whatever you decide, truly, whether it benefits my free time enjoyment at all (lmao) or not. Looking forward to whatever's down the line.

Honestly, the fact that you stayed true to yourself and your style is why I fell in love with your let’s play. Personally, I can barely watch through a lot of the newer Minecraft content creators don’t get me wrong it is entertaining but I can only take so much of it at a time. I much rather watch channels like yours and etho or other creators that have a kind of “old school” kind of let’s play. All I’d say is, just do you! There are many people that are here to support you.

You cannot change what you do because it is the only piece of time that wasn’t destroyed by Covid or modernization or MrBeast, but it would be great for you and your channel to open up to different things like a WebCam, maybe start streaming or even start on twitch to get a whole new community of viewers. Hi Dallas! I also been watching you for a couple years and been loving every video so far. I think the main reason people stop watch your videos is because there are not always a lot to see. There are episode where you build a lot like with recent episodes where you build the city but there are also episodes where you mostly just walk around and talk. It feels more like some sort of a podcast than a minecraft LP. I personally don't mind it but some people can find it boring. In my opinion, one thing you can make is to lower the video frequency but increase the content in them. For example, hermitcraft videos dont release very often, but when they do release, they are very interesting. Maybe you could add more intrigue to your videos. I think its a matter of trying out things and seeing what sticks. Try changing something for like 10 episodes and see how people react. You can also try to interact with other parts of community, like join an SMP. Anyway, I hope the best for you and your channel.
@pranab4928
@pranab4928 11 ай бұрын
for some reason i've never minded, like, it's always *interesting*. i've seen people include footage where they're just breaking a tree in the middle of whatever they were saying or doing. so i think there's a bit of luck and contacts involved (plus clickbait and advertising, which is not a great thing)

The reason you’re the ONLY Minecraft KZbinr that i still watch and basically my favorite KZbinr at the moment is that you LP has that…authentic feeling to it. It has lore, amazing realistic builds, no impossible mega builds, your videos are always chill and they just make me happy. The 15-20 minutes i spend watching your video are always my favorite part of the day. Its really unfortunate that people only care about these clickbait fast based videos nowadays.

Every one else already highlighted it but your core audience, us, who watch religiously your videos, really enjoy your style and we are so thankful you've stayed yourself through all these shitty trends, like what is unique in your channel is the atmosphere. Episodes such as this one are not those who inspire us to innovate in our buildstyle, start a dystopian city or renovate our houses but they surely inspire us to play and remind us that minecraft is a game where you are not necessarily forced to build huge things, sometimes enjoying wandering in your world can make the true difference and that's whats awesome about it. Wherever you're going, i hope that you will be able to grow this channel once again and i sure as hell will try to help you as a fellow watcher in your quest

I believe etho was able to keep people because he wasnt afraid to try things, would it be a redstone system no-one ever thought was possible or a cool build no-one expected. And to add to it, he started when minecraft was so small and kinda grew with the game, yes adapting a some times but mainly evolving. My point is, you shouldnt be afraid to change things up sometimes and try new things because otherwise how would you know if its any good? And dont compare yourself to other channels, instead, learn from your own experience and make something unique that you enjoy doing, i believe its fhe key to enjoying the game and keeping the channel relevent

I think something you can do that others do is to make large farms and build a facade for them. Either a city, factory whatever it might be. Having empty builds that you have no reason to return to and add on to later is what could help you New blocks means you can return and update old builds, don't be afraid of that. like the train station, also, making it functional would make for cool tunnel shots I don't think the channel is "dead", just needs a tune up

Hey, I watch both you and Etho :P and you both have the ability to make me boot up my own world eager to experiment with stuff. Watching Etho always inspired me to do some interesting redstone projects. Obviously you are less of a technical player but you still manage to do the same thing but with building, using map art in builds was an absolute game changer for me. Weird stuff like the multiverse house is so cool !! I can't think of anyone that did something like that. I think it's good that you're "different" than other creators, I like sitting down and watching a Dallas lp instead of a minecraft lp. So exited to see how you use all the new copper blocks, I know you'll use them in a way I would never even think of.

You don't need to change your core reasons you make your content - to inspire Minecraft players to create their own stories and builds. You just need to figure out how to do what you are doing better, so it has a greater reach.

Have you thought about making compalation videos where you show progress you made in chuncks starting from your old videos idk exactly how you would do it but maybe making a 20 minute video showing the very beginning of your world and to now woth you talking over it might bring even more people to your channel and get them interested kinda like world tours do

have you think to make collab with other creator ? I think your are a perfect fit for the series "Empire" with fwhip, pixlriffs so many more ! I always pictured you there with like the steampunk empire or industrial empire :P that would bring LOT of new people interested to discover your long-term world :D i really enjoy the lore of this world and it definitely change how a perceive my world, by the way that mountain island is incredible!!! it could definitely become a new district of your world !

Yeah, Dallas would fit in very well. Especially since the series has a lot of storytelling in it. The sad part is that you have to be invited there to be able to join so someone from the server would have to know about Dallas and recommend him.

I've come to your channel recently because I was looking for some oldschool long form let's plays. (PyreMarten is another good one I found) I think there is a gap in your analysis of Etho's channel. Etho's channel stagnated just like yours and would have started to die if he hadn't joined race for the wool, mindcrack, hermitcraft, UHCs, modded multiplayer and the life series which attracts new younger audiences to replace those who get older and stop watching.

Etho has different series but that doesn’t mean he’s a better content creator than you. In fact, I watch your videos more than I do with Ethos. Don’t get me wrong he’s an awesome content creator but you’re just as awesome. I love your builds and the face reveal is a great idea! I’ve always wondered what you look like. It was just like with JackFrostMiner.
