Loom Knitting - Adding a new skein or a new color yarn If adding a new color, do it exactly the same way. Do all color changes at the end of “purl” rows of your garter stitch. After tying your knot, you will do the U-knit with the new color. Then start next Ewrap row of your garter stitch! The chain stitches will look perfect!

Hello 👋🏾 thank you for your videos . Is your loom 3/4 “ or 7/16 “ ? I’m trying to order one but I was not sure. Thank you in advance
@lschue

This one in the video is the 1/2” 144 peg loom… But since then CinDwood introduced the 7/16” 160 peg and that one is so much nicer for using #4 yarn. It is my new favorite loom! Also, these pegs on the loom on the video are the “old version peg” they now have beautiful tapered pegs that are just perfect! Check out this loom… if using #4 yarn this one is perfect. You can use #5 yarn as well. www.cindwoodlooms.com/products/preorder-7-16-160-peg-xl-22-round-afghan-loom?variant=41022273388699&ghref=4861%3A640412

Looks great! I can tell you are an advanced knitter. I've loom knitting (for Christmas gifts) but my edge always curls. Do you have videos for beginner? I have loops and threads. And using #6 yarn. Anyway thank you for awesome technique!!
@lschue
@lschue 2 жыл бұрын
Thnk you! If your talking about edges curling on blankets, then you need to do a border as you knit in order for it not to curl. I have not made a video on how to do it, but I highly recommend watching this youtube video! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5bddnWmpM11nas

I am thinking about buying a cindwood loom. I love making blankets and afghans which one would you recommend? Your videos are so clear and easy to understand. I love watching your videos and I have learned so much

Thnk you so much! ❤ What weight of yarn do you like to use for blankets.. That will determine which loom gauge would be best for you. You can visit CinDwood and Look at the patterns they have and if you see one that you really like you can go from there. There are several free ones as well as paid. I used to use alot of #6 Blanket Yarn but more recently I’ve changed to #4 yarn.

The tails that you have you just weave them end when you are done knitting the blanket?

Love the video, thanks for sharing. I loom a blanket, but the bottom keeps rolling up. How do I keep it from doing that while I'm looming? When I bind off what can I do to flatten it out?
@lschue
@lschue 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The only way to stop the curl, is to do a garter stitch border. Are you ewrapping the entire blanket? It is very easy to do the garter stitch borders and it also helps to frame your blanket and make it have a “finished” look. Garter stitch is alternating 1 row ewrap, then 1 row purl for about 8 to 10 rows at beginning and end of your blanket. You must also use garter borders on both sides.. I usually use the first 5 pegs on each end. This is a great video on youtube that may help you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5bddnWmpM11nas

Sorry another question … so you don’t weave the excess while it’s on the loom? You do it separate once it’s completely finished and off the loom?
@lschue
@lschue 2 жыл бұрын
@@jacquelinepearce1330 No I do not weave in as I am going. I weave in when I am done. Watch the video with the blue & white yarn “Changing Colors”. I hide my knots in the border and then since the border is garter stitch it makes it easy to weave in the ends like she does on this video. These ends stay and they hide the weaved ends in well.

This is a 1/2” 120 Peg CinDwood (pronounced Cindywood). I used to use this one for #4 yarns, but CinDwood recently introduced 7/16” gauge looms, and I now prefer to use that gauge with #4 yarn. Here is a link to their website. www.cindwoodlooms.com/
