What The Cast Of Stargate SG-1 Is Doing Today

The 1994 film Stargate wasn’t a major critical success, but its TV spinoff did much better. Stargate SG-1 ran for an impressive 10 seasons, and introduced viewers to a cast of memorable characters. Some of the actors have gone onto bigger things since the show came to an end in 2007, while others haven’t been heard from too much. Sadly, a few have passed on as well, like Don S. Davis, who played General George Hammond. From the actress who is now known as a director to the actor who has done memorable voice work in video games, here’s what the cast of Stargate SG-1 is doing today.

@Fennwulf If you like Stargate Sg-1, you should check out FarScape if you haven't already done so. FarScape can arguably can be said to give Sg-1 & Atlantis a run for their money. Ben Browder & Claudia Black had their first major breakthrough performances here. Overall, all of these series (Stargate, FarScape & other series) from the golden age of TV sci-fi of the '90's/00's are top-notch awesome!

Ben Browder and Claudia Black were cast as a Thank You to the fans of Farscape. Both shows were aired by the SciFi Channel, at the beginning of SG1's 2nd season, the 1st airing on Showtime(hence the nudity in the 1st episode), Friday night. With Farscape airing right after Stargate SG1. Fans of Farscape would watch SG1 while waiting for Farscape to start. That gave Stargate SG1 the ratings to stay on air and expand their fan base

Stargate Atlantis had a perfectly serviceable conclusion and leaving scope for another series. Stargate SG1 had a good end..... Universe was literally a textbook cliffhanger, the ship was just about enter the void between between galaxies with almost all of the crew in suspended animation apart from Rush.

What I found great is that the cast seemed to find ways to reference MacGyver in some such as Sam when she made the comment when she was repairing something or other "Guess I'll just have to MacGyver it." vs jimmy rigging. Also he Michael Shanks, played a guest role in Andromeda as a Rogue AI character.

Met Amanda Tapping at comic-con with my sister. She seemed rather irritated at us because we wanted to talk about her role in Stargate only, and hadn't really seen any of her other work. Overall kind of wish I hadn't met her because she just kind of looked at us with a "I'm only talking to you because my agent told me to" vibe. Paid $50 for an autograph and she spelled my name wrong lol
