How do you feel about men using DNA testing to establish the paternity of their (sic) children?
@rikmoran39632 ай бұрын
You don’t appear to what “(sic)” means!
@doubledutch47218 күн бұрын
Having watched numerous paternity shows from the USA I now think it should be mandatory before a father's name can be entered on the birth certificate. This would save so much emotional betrayal and trauma and lives that cannot be altered. I'm on some DNA sites and to see the devastation when they find out they are not biologically related is so sad. As a female I can understand the motives in generations gone by for the deceiving as a woman couldn't earn enough to house and feed herself and children at all if abandoned by a husband so it was a literal survival issue (not escaping the fact it shouldn't have happened in the first place) but in the west definitely not the case now.

@@RobynsNest-uh3xl I think the really interesting recent development is the full sequencing of the Neanderthal DNA so amazing they tested and re-tested just to make sure. Then to find we all carry 1-3 or 4 % Neanderthal and now Denisovans DNA in ours. Unless you and your ancestors remained in Africa. So we had babies with them and probably coexisted with them until they died out some 40,000 years ago. This rather threatens modern religions.

@@marsbars-nb2yd If your family includes RED hair then that means you are viking Norway/Sweden. Even being taller than the average means Norse again Norway Sweden. How do I know this DNA tests should only be done on dead people from over 500 years ago, however they all lead to the same thing Tall people and red heads are Norse. Small dark haired are Celtic invaders from Portugal.. Simple stuff when you know these things. My two sons are 6ft 10 inches tall. I was 6 ft 4 inches at 22, and have red (faded now due to my age) hair, and I know I am from Norway on my father's side. My mother also quite tall was from Germany. Now we get to the mixtures for my boys. Their mother was Yemeni/Persian. My youngest has married a Korean/Philipino woman, so immagine the DNA results from my grandaughter!! Also Roman means your family would be smaller than average. I have a degree in history, and a Masters in Ancient history so know a little about what I am saying.
@LFire123 ай бұрын
@@thetruthhurts7675 Red hair has long been associated with Celtic people. Both the ancient Greeks and Romans described the Celts as redheads. The frequency of red hair is highest in Ireland (10 to 30%) and Scotland (10 to 25%), followed by Wales (10 to 15%), Cornwall and western England, Brittany, the Franco-Belgian border, then western Switzerland, Jutland and southwest Norway. Overall, the distribution of red hair matches remarkably well the ancient Celtic and Germanic worlds. It is undeniable too that the highest frequencies are always observed in Celtic areas, especially in those that remained Celtic-speaking to this day. It is now almost certain that native Irish and Scottish Celts were taken (probably as slaves) to southwest Norway by the Vikings, and that they increased the frequency of red hair there.
