I feel like this could have been a really powerful interview. It could’ve covered so many interesting topics. The way pop stars were treated by big corps in the 90s. His mental health challenges. How can he overcome these challenges. How he was treated by the press etc. Instead what we got was we bought your shirt cause you’re so poor and “don’t you have a mum, because if I was your mum I would help”, or “would you work as a sales assistant” Talk about kicking someone when they’re down.

I think judging from this interview and especially after what happened to Caroline Flack the media need to take a really hard look at themselves and ask themselves how they treat stars who are obviously in extremely vulnerable positions. Aren't there ethics guidelines around this? Are interviewers trained on mental health issues? Who thought it was even a good idea to put Paul on this show? We need a wholesale review of media treatment of celebrities - it's the least they deserve. After all, they're human beings just like the rest of us. RIP Paul, you deserved better than this.

You can hear the pain in his voice. I truly feel for him. This could have been a powerful interview. Disappointed in the women.

This is so hard to watch knowing what his fate was. Imagine if 4 men did it to a female former singer whose life is in tatters.

Bless him, he was clearly in a place where yes, he was willing to deliver pizza or work in a shop, but it was mentally dealing with that downfall of having once been in a band and how everything had turned out for him that was the problem, it clearly went far deeper than these numpty women could deal with. Jane Moore and Saira especially should not have done his interview, no sensitivity with questioning whatsoever.

He seemed like a genuinely down to Earth bloke. He had mentioned that he had worked normal jobs then Jane had the nerve to ask that question. I'll bet she wouldn't go out and look for everyday work if she hit on hard times. She ambushed the poor man. Then you had Simon Fuller "paying his respects" when he was a big part of them not making a great deal of money. He leeched money off them and hung them out to dry. You wonder why anyone would want the fame and that lifestyle because it can be absolutely brutal.

This is heartbreaking he's been laid bare to discuss very personal things. I know he choose to go on there but I don't think it was dealt with the care when it came to certain questions more like digging for information. Rest in peace Paul ❤

Shockingly bad interviewing. Terribly patronising. Makes me really angry this ever happened. Typical lack of compassion from an ITV show. They’re treating him like a child.

I hope these women never find theirselves in his position, and if they do they better hope they’re shown more compassion than they showed to Paul. Patronising. R.I.P Paul
