That waste plants a soft-tart version tbh. Everything's light & not gonna last. Same goes for the main shredder - said it before, say it again, them single rotor toothed shredders are crap - they eat themselves. Money-pits. Twin-shaft shear shredder & much heavier duty belts & drives, job ud be a goodun till the end of time. In 2 years, this set-up will have worn itself out. One glance at the drive on that conveyor tells me it's the mickey-mouse spec. SEW for the win. Those keep sh*t turning.. We've SEW drives on waste conveyors that got installed 18 years ago & are still doing full days without blinking having never been touched. We swapped a single-shaft shredder out for a twin shaft shear in a spot that processes waste plastic & paper - where the lads were falling asleep waiting for the single-shaft to get through stuff, they couldn't keep up to feeding the twin-shaft the difference was so big - the twin-shaft was half the size of the single shaft and it didn't crap itself every time some steel or concrete sneaked through - it just sheared that too. Night & day. Rock-spec belts & rollers on them conveyors & there'd be no issues - them flats are for light applications, not waste jobs. Waste is hard on gear. Good vid all the same Chris. :-) "Let it develop" worked as always. Nobody listens. Dunno why nobody listens. Bet yer man has stupid money spent on that crap set-up - as always. If he bothered asking people who know what lasts, he'd not be having all the down-time. Ashville are going down the same road - about to spend millions on a load of old rubbish that won't last - where they could do far far better for far far less. Baffles me.

Conveyor belts can be replaced in situ, many firms do it. 👍 Vulcanise them together. More temporary repair than a bodge Christopher.
