I was onced listened to the entirety of Strange Trails at night on an all night road trip, and there's nothing better to hear this gem at 2:00 AM on an empty road.

I dedicated this song to my wife. She is my Belle Fleur Sauvage. Every time I hear it, I’m overwhelmed with tons of emotions. Thank you, Lord Huron. 🙏

I still cry every time I hear this. It's so melancholy. When I miss my kids i sit alone and Lord Huron allows me to feel feelings and it's alright 🐦

My slow connection-speed comes in very unhandy at times like this. Best it'll do is 480p -- but slow Huron beats hell out of no Huron at all....

It is veiled allegory for the edelweiss or 'Étoile des Alpes' (French for Star of the Alps)... Not the girl every one believes it is about... But this flower, in itself, evokes so many myths and mysteries!

You mean THIS? kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGLSgJdqn6apY8U Sorry, I don't hear it. Matter of fact, I don't even SMELL it.
@DarlyWilesАй бұрын
I'm sorry but you're wrong.. it IS telling about the flower.. but it's comparing the winning of the girl's hand that he loves to the climb up the mountain to get the flower.. it's a comparison of the mountain climb to falling in love and winning that love 😊 That's my take anyway

@@vitoriabatista4601 Sorry, but you can't single out a "best part of the song," or even "the best song" on an LH album, because the real trick lies in Mark Barry's insistence on timestamping the entire albums -- at least that was so with Lonesome Dreams and Strange Trails. All the tracks are "of a piece." Part of the magic. If the phone rings, I want to shoot it, for having effed up the rhythms.

What does the name of this awesome song translat to? I❤️this song &have always wondered what does it mean?
@LilyMay531014 ай бұрын
It translates to "the beautiful wildflower." It's French. The French structure of the title literally translates to "the beautiful flower, wild" which I think actually fits even better for the atmosphere of the song! I love it too!❤️

Six years since we lost you in the Teton Mountains. Your mountaineering team said this was your theme song. Miss you so much my beautiful wildflower. You were the best daughter a Dad could ask for. Can't wait for our heavenly reunion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpqTp6VsecSNnrcsi=s6PwJrtmZSMQxyvm

Not for the faint of heart... I don't know friends... He's talking about dying and her laying in his grave when he dies, that's a red flag right there. Not to mention that he's plucking that fleur, red flag. My daughter's father made a beautiful video of our life to this song. At the time, I was suicidal in Alaska for the second fall in a row, so he took me away on a sabbatical and we "fell in love again". Fast forward a year.... When I got pregnant he was almost a US citizen (yes I married a South African man). He said, "you tricked me, I want to see other people". I got a good therapist, things worked out, we had a lovely baby daughter, we went to South Africa to visit his parents and then guess what he did. He took me right back to Alaska. Five excruciating years of hell later I'm Tricked and trapped (6 months is all they need to trap your child), and now I don't know how I'm going to survive. The sun RARELY shines and when it does it shines for a month straight. My baby used to scream, the sun, the sun, I hate the sun when the light started blasting back in April. His culture does not believe in divorce. Think about that. To get a divorce you need to vilify the "love of your life". I'm pretty sure he wanted me laying in his grave for when he died. This song is about the objectification of women, making sure they are laying in their man's grave for when he dies. It was all so beautiful before he came and plucked that beautiful wild flower.... All I can say to you single ladies is if a man plays you this song, better run further up that mountain, escape the bear trap, and keep on dancing! Amen!
