@@00Kuja00 The bit about Tolkien giving Lee his blessing to play Gandalf is an urban legend. Christopher Lee was at a pub with some friends, one of whom knew Tolkien. Tolkien happened to walk in, came to say hello to Christopher Lee's friend. Christopher Lee was starstruck and stammered "how do you do?". Apparently, that's the only interaction the two ever had.

6:10 What I love about this moment is that. In any other movie like Star Wars, where the villain henchmen try to explain to their leader why they’re not making any progress. The henchmen just either get killed or abused into getting things done quicker(basically being told to just figure it out). While here Saruman calmly and wisely addresses y the issue and gives them advise that actually helps them. Wich makes sense cause why would you want to get rid of the people in charge of your operation just for a mistake that’s out of their control. Saruman may be a bad guy, but he’s a good boss. 👍🏼

i cant wrap my head around the set design at 00:05 -- that looks like a modern chain link fence you'd see in a public park
@thosko984 ай бұрын
To be fair chain link fencing had been around since the 1800s. Isengard having it does sorta make sense considering it represents Tolkien's negative view on the industrial revolution. Although, I never noticed this detail before you pointed it out lol
@wiredcer4 ай бұрын
@@thosko98 your reply made me rewatch the clip and now I see the aerial shot before shows a completely different planting design for the park with more trees and some shrubs and no fence. Then when it cuts to the ground view, those trees have vanished and a fence has appeared. I wonder if that was a real park where they shot it, and then never got around to editing out the fence. If this shot even appeared in the theatre release? The park isnt even colour corrected to match the tower in that shot. It looks like raw footage.

I’ve never understood who enjoys watching clips from their favorite movies with half the dialog cut out. Apparently in cinematography, “scene” has a much narrower meaning than in common parlance… but still, wouldn’t you rather see Saruman’s conversations with other characters? Rather than just every time Christopher Lee was on screen
@chickenmadness17323 ай бұрын
the vids get taken down by KZbin if you don't chop it up. If you want the whole thing you need to mess with the audio and put watermarks all over it to stop the AI from detecting the movie scenes.

What is the point of cutting scenes apart to just include the parts with a certain character?
@jkorshakАй бұрын
Certain characters are sometimes cinema legends and they sometimes give interesting or engaging performances. It's a convenience for anyone who wanted to look at Lee's scenes in LotR without having to scan through the films. it's a credit to Lee as an actor and performer that someone would make the effort to collect his screen time in the series.
