I honestly love the Ents and Hurons in Tolkiens work. They symbolize nature and teaches us that if we don't respect and take care of it, then it would strike back in some way. Man Tolkiens symbolism is so awesome imo!!! :)

The Ents had never encountered hobbits until Merry and Pippin met Treebeard, meaning that the tree creature Sam's cousin saw was most likely an Entwife. "Old Man Willow" could have been a tree-ish Entwife instead of a Huorn. JRRT was quite fond of disguising women as men - for example, Éowyn fooling the witch king Nazgûl into battle, or the female dwarves having beards.

Perhaps it is possible that the Ents did not perish but in stead were reunited with the Entwives after the war of the ring.

I distinctly remember reading something about Treebeard and Gandalf travelling to Tom Bombadil after the events in the war of the ring, but i cant for the life of me remember what book!

in return of the king Gandalf tells the hobbits that he is parting ways with them to visit Bombadil before they reach the shire. I do indeed feel like I read more detail regarding it in a history of middle earth book but I would have to do some serious digging to find the exact section.

"Ent draught" is pronounced like "ent draft." "Draught" is just an antiquated spelling of "draft," meaning something that is drawn or pulled, in thos case a drink drawn from a spring or well.

I am not sure whether you or I am mistaken here but if I recall correctly, the Hourns had not been sent by the Ents. I seem to recall that even Treebeard was surprised when he saw them all on the "march". I could be mistaken tho but I am very certain that the Huorns motivation never had actually been revealed.

Did Old Man Willow ever feel Tom Bombadil was intruding as well? I wonder if Bombadil helped protect Old Man Willow even though the tree was evil. They lived right next to each other. The Shirefolk probably knew about him so only humans were his prey?

In this video, it was said that Saruman used his word of magic to convice fangorn to release him and so Saruman never rise again in power. But in the movie Saruman was killed by Grimma Wormtongue.
