My father is 76 years old. He has NEVER been into the fantasy genre in any sense. Over the last 15 years, I have tried numerous times to get him to watch LOTR with me to no avail. This past Christmas, I was able to FINALLY convince him to sit down and watch at least The Fellowship Of The Rings (extended version) with me. Within a 5 day span, we finished ALL 3 Extended Versions and my 76 years old father was in tears by the end of it and thanked me for sharing them with him. He told me "I haven't enjoyed a journey like that in a long time".

Before a holiday break, I downloaded him all 3 lotr extended edition clips, although he wasn't much in fantasy but he promised that he would "look" . A week later he returned as a LOTR nerd. According to him, he began watching fellowship to see what it is before going to bed, ended up pulling a whole nighter, finishing all 3 in one go.

Frodo : “I can't do this, Sam.” Sam : “I know. It's all wrong By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened. But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.” Frodo : “What are we holding on to, Sam?” Sam : “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”

I guess because the hobbit is the part of our human self which represents life. and since this music sounds fresh, blooming, growing, the message of life is being transported by it. Hobbits like to watch things grow. Life is growing, death is decaying. And home is something pure, we carry it in our hearts, it is the things we love dearly in this life.

"Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree, By caves where never sun has shone, By streams that never find the sea; Over snow by winter sown, And through the merry flowers of June, Over grass and over stone, And under mountains in the moon. Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star, Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known. " Every time I read Bilbo's poem, it's set to this melody in my head. Howard Shore really just nailed that feeling of home here.

I believe that Lord Of The Ring is one of those mythical, legendary films, which do much more than make you dream, which makes you want to go on an adventure, to face a terrible creature and to make fabulous encounters. This complete world is, according to me, a story, a world, a legend not to be forgotten, a legend that will make many generations dream. This triology, this music and the story of the little Hobbit helped me so much with my anxiety. It makes me feel like one day everything will be okay. Right now it might be hard, sad and scary but one day this pain will be over. It will feel like coming home after a long journey and I will be safe with no worries. Maybe this will never come true, I honestly don’t know, but it gives me the strength to go on, to keep walking. Hopefully I will learn from this journey and when I come home I might not be the same person as when I left, but that’s good, because I’ll be okay.

A whole world and history is left, and I'm still listening to this for over a hundred years... Time passes so fast, I miss my forest life, I miss my friends back there where we could just pretend we're heroes and kings, playing for eternity... Time by time, everything changed when we were suddenly apart, by the Masters in the village or some kind of love we found hiding behind a tree... This music throw me back to time, when I was young, dad was alive and together with my mom they were behind my back, protecting me and providing not money, but smile on my face. Decades after, I'm just turned 25, thousands of miles away from my mom, dad had passed year ago as well as the war started so I had to emigrate . Now there's a tremendous earthquake in a country where I'm living for a moment. I don't know, how it'll be, but I know for sure, when I'll feel like it's a time, I'll turn these movies on, sit back and jump back to the good old days, when the biggest problem was to do homework. Lord of the rings really got me through a tough point in my life. During the pandemic when i couldnt see my friends or family members it was so strange and sad. But one day I decided to watch a beloved film series my dad had always loved and talked about as soon as i watched the fellowship of the ring i was completely in love with the music, character’s, scenary, storyline and everything to do with this franchise. I felt so connected and shed a tear as i finished return of the king it helped me get through a very hard time as i watched the adventures unfold the battles begin and friendships being formed. Now i am in love with lord of the rings, the hobbit and the new series. I am truly thankful for tolkien and how his amazing writing and creativity created such a heartwarming franchise with incredible morales and quotes and peter jackson who made the writers vision truely come to life. I am also so grateful for howard shores music and how he truely connects us with middle earth and the characters. I am forever grateful and will always treasure and love this franchise as it holds a special place in my heart.

“It’s all wrong By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened. But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Because they were holding on to something. (...) there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for. “
