I do love, Dorothy Love Coates. When I was just 13yrs old, the harmonetts would come to Augusta,Ga, home of the swanee Quintett, I would go to their programs, and just feel her spirit as a young girl. I am 73yrs old nnow and know and sing most of her songs. This one I sang at my retirement in 1999. I am so glad I met this woman of god. Her songs are so scriptual. This one is one of my many favorites. God Bless you for all of her music.

Dorothy Love Coates has written soooo many songs that are still sung today, like "They Got The Word" and "I'm Just Holding On" both recorded by the Mississippi Mass Choir. Dorothy's "They Got The Word" is originally titled "A City Built Four Square."

Dorothy was one of the hardest working female singers and my heart was bleeding for her because the worlds 'WORST' DRUMMER' was playing the audiance pitched in and clapped in the tempo the song was to be in. I WAS NOT THERE BUT LISTENING I KNOW SHE SHUT HIM DOWN.' Only a real anointed woman of God could have pulled that off and she was the best.

I grew up on Sis Love Coates and the others from way back, and Sis. Love Coates was my absolute favorite. That woman had FIRE, and she was real and sincere about serving the Lord. This wasn't just a way for her to make money, she was REAL about her salvation!!! My daddy had all of Sis. Love Coates' 45's and 33 1/3's, and I am STILL a big fan of hers!!! Thank you for uploading these songs, brings back great memories!!!

Thank so much for posting this! I would have loved to see this on video too. I taught this song to the Senior Choir of New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church in Va. Bch. A good lady named Sis. Judy Foreman superbly led it. Well, we sang this one afternoon at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and got the same reaction from the congregation. (smile) Peggy Britt of the Philharmonics Choir was there too. When we were finished, she just waved her approval at me at the end when I past her by to sit back in my seat.
