I feel like one of the coolest things about the Lord Huron fan base is that everyone seems to have the same appreciation for not only the beauty of the music ,but the amount of talent of these guys have, the music is cosmic, haunting, happy, sad, and at times something that reminds me of something out of a spaghetti western. Been a fan for years and I’m still amazed every time these guys release music how great it is

A few months ago, I ran across an old Johnny Horton CD in a thrift shop. Naturally, I bought it, because it had one of my favorite songs of all time on it (Battle of New Orleans, an absolute banger track, but that's only mildly important.) What is important is track 2 on that CD: a song called Whispering Pines. It's a haunting song, with a floating choral line, a melody vocal with the perfect amount of reverb, and instrumentals in that special '40s and '50s folk music style. It was so beautiful it made me want to cry, but it also reminded me of something else, although I couldn't put my finger on it. Flash-forward to a few days ago, when I bought this album on vinyl (at Walmart, too. Stay sharp, record collectors! They have good stuff occasionally!) I got it back to my dorm, opened it, took out the record sleeve, and there, staring me dead in the face, were three simple words: "Whispering Pines Records." And it all clicked. Life's tapestry may be folded weird, but it comes together at the corners eventually. I hope whoever reads this finds happiness (and good music) wherever they go.

The fact me and the bois at the Camp enjoyed this song while guarding the dam at night. We played this song on repeat, for so long we have mastered the lyrics. They thank me and my tito for bringin this song to that lonely camp.

This, secret of life, yawning grave, the night we might, frozen pines, fool for love, world ended, ends of the earth, wait by the river, when the night is over, way out there. I probably missed some others tbh this band is just magical man my favorite band of all time tbh. (I forgot in the wind love that one too)
