I have just had my washing machine installed and after my 18 year old Bosch packed up a few weeks ago and bought the WAJ28008GB Bosch. So far I am happy with the machine. I like the fact that it comes with a 2 year warranty on all parts and labour.

Hugely useful demonstration for me to understand the basics, as my 89 yr old aunt (who is virtually blind) cannot fathom instructions from any visual source herself. She also can't remember it all if explained verbally. This video helps me to help her, because she only likes certain washes & temperatures & I can now devise a way she can use the machine independently. No-one designs a washer for visually -impaired people to operate. The oh-so-popular digital displays are less use than basic dials & knobs when you can't see. At least this model machine goes partway to helping with a dial & start button. Thanks so much for your clear instructions. The online manual was difficult to read & less informative. I could write these for a living far more clearly, as my job used to be devising schemes & agreements. Funnily enough, I have noticed that when I suggest better forms of words for such, no-one ever takes them up! Lol. This is why your demonstration is so necessary & helpful. Thank you.

I'm looking for a new Bosch as my 2007 Classixx is sadly failing. (Spider I fear.) A very helpful demonstration thank you. I wish I'd thought of looking here first as it answered several questions I couldn't find the answers to anywhere, not even on Bosch's website! On a wasted visit to Currys today to see this model I was told they wouldn't have this one on display in any of their stores, just online! Running through the controls helped so much. My questions about metal paddles (integrated in drum) & hinges were addressed and the view of the back answered my concerns as the depth is critical for me. The lack of an overhang was a surprise I've seen nowhere else, but I now know it will fit. A very knowledgeable presentation thank you, keep up the good work! I'll probably order one.

Good video, I would not have purchased this machine if I had viewed this video before purchase. It's a totally inflexible machine, my last Bosch lasted for 20 years and was a great machine. It had a nob for temperature and another for wash length. It's supposed to be very quiet, but it's very noisy on spin.

The capacity will vary depending on the was you have selected. On the whole you need to select the Cottons to wash at the full 7kg

Do you have a tutorial on this Model or is it pretty much the same? Also, is it possible to do a cold wash? Lastly, according to the manual I received, the shorter washes consume more energy. I haven't done a specific video on your model but it should be similar to this model. You will be able to do a cold wash on yours. Also you are correct that the quicker washes can consume more energy than the longer washes. Also the longer washes will give you a much better washing performance than the quicker washes. Very helpful.......I did notice the power to the start button goes off when you engage the child lock option, when disengaged, the power to the start button comes back on, is there any significance in that....I’ve just purchased this model and found the setting up the delayed start sequence a little confusing. It does sound right, a lot of odern machines use very little water compared to the machines of 10 - 15 years ago. If there was an issue then the wash performance would not be very good.

Is there an emergency emptying hose? you don't show the emergency hose on this model (I notice you do on other models) - is that because there isn't one? Or is it out of the picture when you open the pump filter? If there isn't one how do you empty the machine if it stops whilst full of water?

depending which model you have, you should have the option to spin only as a program at the bottom.

That shouldn't be happening, first of all check to make sure the transit bolts have been removed from the machine. Don't use it until you have checked because if one or more of the bolts are still in then it can damage the machine. Also cheock the machine is flat and level on the floor.

Already done and scheduled for 19th of July. The main difference between the 2 is the load size. The WAj28001 is 7kg and the WAJ28002 is 8kg

You can only reduce it once. If you press it again it will revert back to a normal wash time

If anything the WAN28201GB should be quieter as it uses an eco silence drive motor which should mean it is quieter than the WAJ range of machines that don't use the quieter motor

I have just bought the WAJ28008GB and the instruction manual is pretty useless. I have tried to use the spin function but it just spins round slowly and leaves the item sopping wet. The instructions do not explain how to use this - it mentions a function ----1400 - but it does not explain how to get to this function, and there is certainly no button on the machine that matches that description. Can anyone help by explaining clearly how I use this facility on the machine? I am having to put the item through a full wash just to get it to spin properly.

Make sure all of the transit bolts have been removed. Even if you have left 1 bolt in it will shake around a lot and damage it

In some/all bosch split drum designs have made it so that you can't replace the bearings buying a whole half of the drum for £140. Not sure if this is one of those models though.

I pressed speed perfect it reduced the time from 1:15 down to only 1h05 but once I started it out went right up to 1:23. Why?

It very much depends on the load size that is in the machine. If it is a larger load then it can take longer than the original time

No this doesn't have a brushed motor, Bosch use a type of brushless motor which is part of their Eco silence drive technology to reduce noise and energy consumption.

It doesn't sound like it is damaged, it is normally either the child lock is on or it is more than likely that when the machine is in operation the door locks so it cannot be opened.

I am a bit disappointed with this Bosch the shortest wash is mixed load 49 mins every other machine I have had has a 'Quick wash' or am I missing something?

Unfortunately for a lot of machines, if you want to do a large load, then it needs to be one of the longer programmes. Most quick washes will only be for small loads

On that note, what is the use of delaying the process when everyone wants a quicker wash. I mean what is the use of the "finished in'... 5 hrs ... Like you said if it is 12:00 it will start and keep washing till 5:00? And what if you start at 12:00 and pause it for 4 hours will it still finish by 5:00 reducing the duration of the program to 1 hr

Re measurements: I had a door fitted over my old Bosch machine 2001). Because the measurements , especially depth, were smaller, I thought it would fit behind my cupboard door. But it did not and I couldn’t close the door properly. The reason being that my old machine had a flat front and this one has a door opening that projects out. This was not included in the stated measurements.

Can anyone let me know how, on the spin only function, it spins properly? At the moment it's only draining the water and spinning very slowly, leaving the item soaking wet? I have tried changing the spin speed, switching it on and off at the mains to reset the programme but to no avail? Thanks.

It will be spinning slowly as it is trying to balance the load before doing the proper spin. Is it a full load you are trying to spin? If it is only a handful of items, then it may be worth adding some more clothes to see if it spins properly.

How does this compare to their Serie 4/6/8? what are the differences?

This is the first in the new generation of Bosch washing machines that have been designed with the new energy labelling in mind. The main differences are some of the Eco programmes the new machines have which are designed to be cheaper to run but are longer duration. The main difference as you go to the serie 4 6 and 8 and the load sizes, the better models are normally 8 or 9kg. Also the better models have a really nice looking led display.
