I went and saw the Damned in Newport KY at the JOCKEY CLUB. Before that they were at the RECORD BAR at the Mall out in the burbs signing PHANTASMAGORIA. My friend and I just sauntered all the way to the front of the line LOL and I got them to sign my album.. It was so cool. The concert was crazy. 2 opening bands (I had fake iD) and they were throwing beer bottles at the ceiling... , it was loud.. I almost got crushed when the crowd surged forward when the Damned came on (some guy came on right before and said that the Damned wouldn't play if they kept throwing beer bottles at the stage.. ) there was this tiny (I mean she was like 4.6) and she was stage diving and got up on stage next to Dave Vanien and then dived into the crowd... I was deaf for 2 weeks after that show. that was 1986 I have seen the Damned 2 times possibly 3 since that time.

I saw LOTNC at the Clarendon Rooms in Hammersmith. It was one of their first gigs. The rest of the Damned were in the audience. Someone threw a bottle and the band so Rat got off his kit mid way through a song and 'had words' with the person who threw it. I have a few photos of the night. Must have been early 80's.

Slow and sloppy - the polar opposite of the original! To me they sound like a drunk college band, learning to play their instruments. At least Michael sounded good.
