The gameplay is fine, but the way they butchered the story ruined the experience for me. I just can’t get over how much more emotional and powerful it could have been. Honestly though I’m mostly mad at the way Nintendo marketed it. If they’d been honest about what kind of game this was from the beginning, I think I probably wouldn’t be as disappointed.
@smoogieboogie16944 жыл бұрын
@@air9188 I hate the argument that a story can only be emotionally rich or powerful if deaths are involved. I found AoC to be much more emotional than BoTW because we actually get to see and bond with the Champions and Zelda in real time, we get to see them meet with their successors and their successors with them and how this affects all of them, we get to see Zelda’s falling out and reconciliation with her father, and much more. They didn’t butcher the story, they improved it, IMO. And if people could look past the whole “It’s different so it’s bad” mentality, they may see this as well.

We all know why Link doesn't speak in the Era of the Wild (Age of Calamity, Breath of the Wild, and most likely the sequel), he has this line he said to Zelda when she confronted him on why he doesn't speak: "With so many eyes upon me, and so much at stake, I found it necessary to stay strong...and silently bare any burden", Link really feels like a person. He gets stressed from the pressure of his role as the hero. Makes you kinda feel sorry for him...I know I do...

Unfortunately this doesn’t play well in AoC. Especially in the scene in Korok forest where it would have been only natural for him to blurt out even just one word during a moment of extreme emotional and physical duress. Actually, it is QUITE clear that Zelda's mother has ties to divinity because, without it, she wouldn't exist. The Zelda royal family is a matriarchy, NOT patriarchy, both the royal power and Hylia's power pass down through the women, not the men.
@dorianwiesner44773 жыл бұрын
Your video supports my theory of the queens name. I believe she is the former princess of Hyrule, so her name would be, in hyrulean tradition, Zelda. Princess Zelda mentions in her diary (or was it Roham?) that she lost with her mother a spiritual teacher. That means, the queen had the power of goddess Hylia, given due to her divine bloodline. The dress, the pose of her statue, all that supports my theory. We even know the name of this dynasty, the Bosphoramus Dynasty, if she took on her husband's last name. So the queens full name would be: Queen Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule I Which means her daughter full name is: Princess Zelda Bosphoramus Hyrule II Does that make sense?

Comments by zelda in hw:aoc confirm that her mother survived childbirth and lived for several years after.

To be specific, I'm pretty sure Zelda was 6 years old when her mother died.

I always called it Akaala as well, but it actually makes sense it being called Akkala phonetically(?) as well. Well, at least to me as a German; since it's a double-K and not a double-A.

Certainly makes sense; Logically speaking, the same group would copy their designs tenfold.

I think this game is much more story and character development than just mindless button mashing. It tells me me a lot of information about the calamity and is a great game. Don’t feel bad if you don’t have time to make videos and play this game.

Oh man, the whole Akkala vs. AkkAla pronunciation thing is just a mess. In the German voice acting they say AkkAla, but we would intuitively say it with an accentuation on the first A... well, i guess they did it exactly the wrong way round. Just like with Daruk. I would stress the last syllable here, but the German voice acting says it like DAruk.
