I recently discovered the lore of those magnificent fictional creatures, and both liking the fandom and being a sucker for sci-fi stuff and biological-technological connections, I easily fell in love with the concept of protogens. To the point that my head started to think about a story. I have a couple of characters in mind, but I have to come up with something consistent plotwise yet. So I started questioning myself. Being them both badass looking and both artificially-created life, and able to travel from planet to planet, I'd like to show a lot of stuff. But. Since it's not something I originally created, I'm struggling with some points. For example, Primagens are a closed species and I by no means intend to violate their rules, so I suppose creating those characters for the sole story purpose is out of debate. And I'm completely fine with that. It would be a lot easier for me to create an alternative version of them with no conceptual differences but with slight modifications, such as "creators" being either only referenced by this name by the creatures or substituted with other entities that are not owned by a specific person and therefore are not a closed species. I also wanted to include other life forms in this little project such as humans for example, which they make contact with. Nothing else will be changed, as the original lore is absolutely interesting to me. It really does sound like I'm stealing something. So I'm sorry. And I probably have to ask the direct creator of the species so I can be 100% sure, idk. What do you think? Thanks. (anyway it's one of my personal projects which is gonna be almost certainly private and not published anywhere, and even if would, it will not lead to any kind of profit of course, it's just a passionate fan work)

If the limbs are replaceable, how do you keep the limbs biological components alive while detached? The one thing that annoyed me was the nanite manipulation being a rare trait only, since my proto's whole thing was that she could manipulate her nanites out of her body to interact with machinery and form weapons and shit. I think I have a good workaround for it that might even let her "become" a rare in the future, but I'm still ticked that I had to do that in the first place.

when i hear subnautica literally in the first minute, i can already tell this is going to be an epic video, just be prepared for an edit i make when i finish watching it Edit: This video almost had a documentary-esque appearance, with the way Raeal presented it. The music had that futuristic aesthetic adding to the overall atmosphere of the video and making it more engaging. and i believe 20 minutes is a really good time frame as it isn't too long or too short, all the information was cleverly condensed into that 20 minutes, making for a really entertaining experience. I feel like protogens are legitimately more than just 'a furry species', with the expanded lore information, Zenith's Outer Reach should probably be considered to that of many popular franchises such as Star Wars and Star Trek. And c'mon, Protogens are just cool in general, just imagine being able to flip off someone you don't like with just your nanite visor face and then detaching your arm and yeeting it at them for extra sarcasm.

I have a “Fuzzy Feeling” I only yesterday came to terms with myself being… a furry… I was against being a furry a while ago, then I met @Sky_1300 he’s a great friend (he’s also a furry). After a year or so of talking to him as a friend, trying new things with him, and just generally having a good time with him.., I started noticing odd feelings with myself, I lied to myself saying it was just knowing one of his biggest secrets (I ain’t telling) I told someone but that didn’t help at all… so I told that same person about my fuzzy feeling, luckily they were with me, I am still coming to terms with myself but I’m getting more used to being a furry, This was not a new thing… When I was younger I had a fantasy, to be able to turn into a purple-pink cybernetic wolf, (basically a protogen) I didn’t know what a protogen was until recently, when I meant sky… He’s helping me through this right now…

18:00 this is intriguing but also terrifying in a way. My headcanon puts this as some sort of old combat protocol activated during desperate measures when war was still raging on. Often activated when there was no sign of backup, rescue, or avenues of escape. The effects of this protocol takes a toll on the proto to the point where death is almost certain. If they do manage to survive, something is likely left irreparably damaged. Now the old protocol is just remade into a malware virus/hack

He's not a full-on Protogen but a wolf, however thanks to your info I made it so he has a few Protogen augmentations that he got accurate to the lore. It has been some time since you produced this. Quite well done. Some have said there are some rouge technicians who have managed to transfer the core of sentient species "minds" into reclaimed Protogen hosts. The concept was to expand the life span of the donor species into the Protogen in hopes of prolonging their life as part of their host. I cannot confirm this, but I have met some Protogen who have adopted traits of human's whose' mind was incorporated into a Protogen host. Was it a success? Some say it was, though I can attest to their being some unintended consequences of such a merger. Time will tell. Thank you for your excellent explanations.

The Toaster. A machine created to toast things. Once I stuck my hand inside of this incredible machine. I turned the dial all the way up and pulled down the trigger. The scorching metal seared into my skin. I felt it begin to burn off. The metal was so hot, all of the skin on my hand ended up burning off. It felt so soothing and nice. Once the toaster springs popped, I looked at my hand. No skin was left and it was on fire. It felt like heaven. I stuck my other hand in, the skin also burned off. The soothing feeling as my skin slowly seared off felt like a massage. Now both of my hands were skinless. I eventually did this to all of my other limbs…somehow. I even did it to my face. I looked in the mirror afterwards and stared at the skeleton that once used to be me, fully skinned, now I was bare to the bone. But then I realized, I was never myself all along. I was Sans the skeleton from the popular game Undertale by Toby Fox featuring popular songs such as Megalovania.
