I'm convinced this whole "Christ" phase would have not happened if Chris was given a different name when he was born. If a delusional person realizes their name is similar to a God, it wouldn't take much for them to convince themselves there's a connection. I remember Bob originally wanted to name Chris "Christian" but decided not to and named him "Christopher" instead until the bear incident. Correction: He has learned absolutely nothing since his early twenties. That's the main reason why I find him interesting. He keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. It's strange to see a person do that. This is probably mean to say, but he reminds me of my dog. After she found a way to escape her pen, I patched the hole. After years, when we put her in there, she would try to get out of the pen the same way with 0% success. If something works one time for Chris, he'll keep repeating that behavior for years. He'll expect it to work again even though it hasn't worked in years.

Prequels exist to expand the world of the original from perhaps an different perspective, give us an deeper understanding of the characters motivation or explain unexplored backstories of the present day characters or lay the seeds for things to come. Chris fails miserably in all of these, and only complicates the already messed up continuity of Sonichu with the addition of unnecessary retcons. Sonichu is uninteresting as is, but at the very least the plot would've moved forward if it was set in present day. Which it seemingly doesn't for no apparent reasons. But what Chris is telling us now is that Sonichu was always an omnipotent being as his present day counterpart. Which to Chris' credit (or rather not that developed God complex at the time of his creation) he wasn't as much, and that was character development that came over time similar to Chris decent into madness. But I guess not.

I am a little late but I'd like to comment on the Dimensional Merge as a Hyperdimension Neptunia fan. Chris sort of treats it as this savior, like the best aspects of C-197 and 1218 will create his own little utopia where he doesn't have to get a job or whatever issue of the week he's avoiding. In the game where this concept is stolen from, Megadimension Neptunia VII (Mouthful I know.) The Merge is the exact opposite. In essence there are 3 dimensions involved, Hyper Dimension, Zero Dimension and Heart Dimension. Hyper is a normal place, Zero an apocalyptic hell, and Heart is the main villain, Kurome's, life essence, she is fused with the dimension itself and in total control. What a merge entails is the NEGATIVE aspects of each dimension, Zero Dimensions general crappiness will bring apocalypse to Hyper Dimension and due to the nature of Heart Dimension Kurome would be in control of this special hell.
