Lorelai and Christopher must have been drunk when they got married in Paris, they are not suited to each other. The way that Richard and Emily are acting makes me sick.

Yeah. I think Christopher had a certain kind of nostalgia shield in Lorelei's eyes. They were such good friends as kids, and while she was always glad that she made her own choice rather than letting herself be pressured into marriage, there might have been a part of her that always thought "what if." And then when she was vulnerable after Luke. . .things just sort of happened.
