Strigoi clearly needs a rework because it invalidates a dlc lord. It needs to have a unique role so you are incentived to use both the strigoi lord and the ghoul kings.

​@@nelsonhill4625At least in Total War, I'd say Ghouls don't fare that well against Slaanesh units and Daemons in particular thanks to their physical resistance. Against other low-armour targets they perform well, but the Vampire Counts are definitely a faction that lags behind.

I’ve always been a believer in a Strigoi / Blood Dragons / Necrarch / Lahmian pack. The Strigoi and Blood Dragons in particular have some options that can really bring a lot of flavour to their campaigns. Strigoi - Gashnag the Black. Could bring Southern Realms / Mercenary units to the VC roster and have unique diplomacy mechanics with other factions. Blood Dragons - Mallobaude. VC / Bretonnia mixed roster, potential to choose if Mallobaude embraces vampirism or turns from it. Necrarch and Lahmian would be Zacharias and Neferata for me. Both bring their own positives to the table imo. Throw in the Red Duke as an FLC and we’re cooking. If we ever get another 4-pack this is absolutely the one I want.

@@sev1120 Yeah though I think Ushoran would be extremely unique because he was a very highly intelligent and super diplomatic Strigoi lord, which breaks the norm for the strigoi he was very powerful, I don't remember if Neferata feared him, but she felt he needed to be dealt with. :)

Imagine a vampire that jas positive relations with the living, as he pays bards to tell tales of how he was once a handsome prince, cursed into a bestial form and disinherited, having clawed his way into nobility. He was sired by Vorag, and is the Strigoi closest to rebuilding the Strigos empire

One thing to keep in mind about the vampire counts is, that they are mostly Vampires culturally tied to the old world. Most of their units are semi-specific for the area around the empire and the badlands. As seen with the Vcoast, a vampiric culture from far away lands could possess very different tools, units and customs. Which is why I am very interested in the two semi-offical vampire bloodlines who live far away from the Old World, the Jade-blooded of Cathay and the insect-eaten one within the deserts of Araby. With warhammers increased scope much could be done. Not in TWW, but in the setting as whole. Indeed I also like the fan-fluff of a faction of an Yoruba-based vampire faction in the Southlands where humans and vampires have a very unique relationship.

My dream for a Necrarch pack would be a mechanic to resurrect and recruit monsters slain from other factions in undead form, with alternate abilities or traits matching that type of creature. As the most magically gifted vampires, they would be the best at repurposing these slain beasts and give us a sort of Vampire Rakarth as part of the update. Gotta catch em all - icky dead version.

Units like the Spectral Claw, Gargoyles, Unholy Armor, Simulacra, Spectral Hounds, Patchwork Men, Abyssal Terror or even the Incarnate Elemental of Death could work as a Summon for the Necrarchs. Also I sure hope you do a bonus final video with the Jade Blooded and the Carrion Children. Also Possibly the 4 missing Bloodlines as I heard there was originally supposed to be 11 or did I hear wrong?

To my knowledge there are only 7 bloodlines in total. However there is a WHOLE discussion that can be had about essentially "unique" bloodlines created by mixing the other bloodlines together which is a concept well explored within the lore.

I love the ideas sobfar. I definitely think the Von Carsteins could and should get a bloodline hero though. I also think they could have their unique unit of on foot bloodknights being the Drakenhoff templars. The blood dragons could then get Bloodknights on nightmares for their unit, which would be cool.

If a necrarch legendary hero isn't dieter helsnicht, then it could be Madame Kalfon, a necrarch who holds a particular hatref for the fay of Bretonnia. A quest battle to recruit them could involve fighting combined forces of Bretonnia and Wood Elves

Give me cool, thematic abilities for each bloodline CA haha. Beastial transformations into bats, wolves, rats, etc., hypnosis, enhanced speed, blood magic of some kind maybe (there's so much you could do with it as far as abilities and traits), turning into mist, and a bunch more. I want to see them go to the previous editions and RPG lore for research and go nuts with the various vampire powers.

There should be a CoC-style DLC for Vampire Counts. Vlad is in already, so we need Neferata, Abhorash, Ushoran and W'Soran possessing Zacharias. Alongside them a massively expanded roster for the midnight aristocracy, an expanded and enhanced Bloodlines mechanic, and new mechanics (vampire awakening/mortal embracement, as well as transforming Necromancer Lords into Litches and many more)...

Master Necromancers and Necromancers have access to the 3 Corpse Carts so, actually, i don't see a lot of reasons to take an Abyssal Terror except if you value speed and a flying melee caster with poison attack over aoe buff/debuff, or just for fun.

Completely agree with everything except Dieter as a LH. I'm just not sure he'd feel right as a hero, even if that does mean the ship has sailed. I don't have a better suggestion though so it could certainly happen. I'm really looking forward to your Strigoi video. I know you're on Team Vorag but I love Ushoran's backstory in Lahmia, his "death" defending his kingdom and his potential rivalry with big sis Neferata. I think he's got great narrative potential and the perfect setup for a mini-campaign mechanic with Khalida a la K8Peaks which I'm dubbing "The Race for Neferata's Head".

It's interesting idea, although it's hard to imagine with their model of "LL=faction", thought may be you could add Legendary Lord of each bloodline when you fully unlock them, if we'd have the same system of 3 unlocks in each bloodline - but that's hard to imagine/implement. Don't know much lore, but for example if you take Neferata for Lahmian bloodline, some Konrad for von Carstein, Abhorash for Blood Dragons, and Ushoran for Strigoi - would you make them accessible through blood kisses mechanic for all Vampire Counts factions? Also that laboratory comparison got me thinking - why wouldn't they add another resource like "souls" or "body parts", which you can use for upgrades and upkeep of your units, give them additional traits, stats.

A suggestion that I have would be to take inspiration from Luthor Harkon when it comes to the Necrarch LL. The character would be Zacharias the Everliving. Since in lore Zacharias consumed his mentor Melkhior who in turn had consumed W'soran, you could give him a similar split personality with access to three different lores depending on what character is in charge, with a quest battle to unite all three and make him a massively powerful spellcaster with access to three lores. Up yours, Mannfred.

Gotta stop at 3min in just to relate my sudden brainwave: Vampire Daniel. Where Daniel advances along Chaos God trees, this guy advances through the Books of Nagash, granting access to all Undead and Ethereal units from every faction. Rather than different body parts, he has slots where he can equip all collected Books for massive set bonuses or individual pages for large customised bonuses (no mixing books with pages). What do we call such a Legendary Lord? I dunno but Nagash has a nice ring to it. Now that I've finished the video... Following the CoC formula, the Bloodlines DLC headlines with Nagash (Bloodlines of Nagash?), while the Red Duke, a Lahmian, a Necrarch, and a Strigoi, take the place of Festus and co. Maybe have Red Duke as FLC and add a Jade Vampire (I assume they're their own Bloodline)? Each of the 'lesser' Legendary Lords starts the campaign with a Book and can equip, say, 2-3 Books/pages to improve themself and their army/individual units OR leave it at the capital for campaign effects that interact with each of their individual mechanics (so in the Necrach example it would maybe unlock the top tier of 'mutations'). Like the Sword of Khaine, the Books (not pages) can be claimed by anyone who defeats the owner but only Vampire LL's can equip them, so it just goes to the capital for some good/bad campaign effects.

I hope for animated Armour as a unit, sadly wickerman are kinda simular in their role 🤔... If we get wickerman I hope them having green or purple fire instead of usual fire. Kinda boring to me usual flames 😅. And yes definitely the faction I am waiting for the most in the vampire counts. A hero for each bloodline would be pretty epic. I don't think we will get that many, but I would love it. The mechanic sounds good to me. With spirit hosts, yes they possibly should be in the game, but completely ethearal units are so nerved atm, that it wouldn't feel great to get another cool looking, underpowered unit. 😢 For the bound spell of the staff I would love a weaker /smaller version of the cataclysm spell of death magic. And I do like the lore of beast spells for necrarchs a loot. Would love to have those 😊 The mechanic you mentioned sounds a lot of fun to me 😍 And further for units, Id like to see undead basilisks, abysal terrors(would love to see that spider thing or just a six legged flying beast), animated Armour!!! , simulacras!!! and maybe wickerman or patchwork man...

One of the small changes that I want to see for the Vampires is just honestly some added mechanics. You can seriously resume their mechanics very easily. I would like for them to have a sort of raise dead idea with different enemies, but that would be gone in a while, similar to how the outpost mechanics work, they can raise specific enemy units after a battlefield, and then they leave. But I have no idea whether that would be feasible or lorewise even a possibility

When you do Blood Vampires, please for the love of god take a look at Walach Harkon (6th edition). He would be superb legendary leader for the blood dragons. And they should have ability to only recruit heroes by challenging other human heroes (only the worthy that proves themselves in combat will be given the blood kiss). Walach fights for the good in the end of times, but is trapped and corrupted and returns to fight for the evil. Real interesting story right there, but all I say is he should be included in a future dlc (The Blood Keep is even on the map last I checked). As for the whole vampire faction, I think they should have the ability to send out corteges of (vampire) aristocrats that go from town to town to gather information, place spies, hunt the night, and visit the courts and try to persuade leaders to like their vampire lord and dislike targeted factions. (I always like vampire books where the vampires rule in the shadows and suave the weak minded to do their biding).

I feel like the mixed lores for legendary casters were always just a rough approximation that was never really satisfying. They should have super levels of spells for the uber casters. In the same way normal casters cast the first level of a spell but can overcast for the second, uber casters cast the second as normal and can overcast for a third super version of a spell. Buffing the effects by quite a bit and maybe just shifting the color or brightness of the spell to make it look different should make this pretty doable.

About Khorne DLC. I think it has to include Norsca (if Norsca is not in Slaanesh DLC), because otherwise Norsca would still have more than year and a half until they get much needed rework they have needed so desperately for so long. It could even be something like Khorne - Norsca - Bretonnia (if GW launches The Old World with new Bretonnia stuff before it) so it would have some osrt of honor (though somewhat twisted one, especially when talking about Khorne) theme.

I doubt CA would do it, but I'd if after this next batch of DLC with Monogod v race v race if they did solo focused dlcs for the 3 neglected races (Ogres, Norsca, Brettonia) to really flesh them out and get them up to game 3 standards.

The least CA could do is make the wait worth it with a big dlc of like 3 LL 1 LH, 3 more generic Lord options, 2 more heroes and 10-15 more units rather than what I sadly expect which is "Here's a LL, a LH, another generic lord option, and 5 units. Back of the line you go, and maybe you will get another update sometime, though probably not"

So a bit of a out there idea since blood bowl isn't actually 'canon' but what about flesh golems from the necromantic blood bowl team. Gives you a bit of a tanky ogre sized unit and fits with the undead experiments idea

I suspect it'll just be a large Nagash DLC, since nothing else makes a ton of sense. That way you could add in a few units for Vampire Coast and Tomb Kings as well. Rise of the Black Pyramid or something. It'll be Neferata over Zacharias but I'm hoping for both. As a side note, I hope if they do Abyssal Terrors they update the model because the old one is one of the most cursed things I've ever seen. How unfortunate.

Hear me out : every spellcaster in the game should have a dispell ability that put SPELLS (not active ability) on cooldown once or twice per game while Zacharias could do it it infinitely but with a lenghty cooldown .

Disagree with jade Bois being coast. Because asian mithology has a lot of lore on vampires to be squandered like that. The current mod we got is a perfect representation of what i would like to see for that bloodline. What could be done instead, is add a jade blooded lord to the vampire coast, plus a few unit variants and then the vampire coast would be expanded this way. ( Could even tap into asian underwater / undead monsters to bring )

Wasn't there also patchwork men? Corpses of multiple people stitched together or something or were you planning to have them attached to a different bloodline? On a more boring note what about undead ogres or giants as a potential unit? Or animated trees akin to the tree-kin except animated by necromancy rather than a forest spirit. Or maybe something like the fenbeast except instead of being made out of mud and rotting plantlife it's instead made out of a mass grave. Or statues forcefully possessed and animated by a ghost/spirit or a set of armor possessed by the ghost of the knight who wore it in life, bound in death to still obey the Lahmian they were tricked into serving and swearing to in life.

I really enjoy having Dieter in Mixu's LL so actually hope we dont get him. Mixu paired with Marienburg makes for very interesting early conflicts for the empire, with 3 Vampire LL's around Marienburg and Riekland.

some ideas after seeing all of your videos of all the 4 bloodlines, and keeping in mind i still only play tw w2: 1st and foremost, the existing necrachs should also have access to the wind of death 2nd ALL bloodlines should have access to the existing bloodline and bloodkiss system. Maybe some tweaks, like your lord should have better buffs on the same bloodline, like if you play neferata the buffs you recieve in the lamian line were better, like instead of 50% dicount on agents you recieve 75%. 3rd a continuation on the last point, since the lords right now are von carsteins (not kemler) and the generic lord is von carstein based, i think the generic lord should vary. the generic lord for neferata would be a lamian vampire, although weaker than the bloodkiss unlockable. this would create a bit of trouble with helman and kemler but thats another story 4th i think vlad should have access to a "empire" system similar to the empire, where he gives a governor to an empire province, that governor recieves a buff and a weapon and you gain access to special troops. also 2 more provinces would have the gorvernor part: Lamia and Nagashizar. And sylvania could have its version of empire swordsman, and each rank of the von carstein bloodline unlocked a new empire unit (the ones we aldready have and the last one should be the halberdier)

I'm still miffed that CA gave Grave Guard and Black Knights magic attacks with Warhammer 3, only to take them away shortly after again. Cursed Blades were a thing on the tabletop, CA! Come on! Give them SOMETHING at least, like Killing Blow!
