I was a Confederate infantry reenactor for 30 years, and this song goes way down deep; in my soul.

I am Canadian and never heard of this song before. I was raised on country music so I am surprised I never heard it before. I cannot stop playing this over and over. Such a haunting and beautiful song. I have since played other renditions but find yours to be SO haunting and beautiful Thank you.

Excellent. No banjo player though?
@merlynschutterle72425 жыл бұрын
Just grab your banjo and work it out. It's pretty easy if you know the chord progression. It sounds better on guitar and fiddle though.

@@merlynschutterle7242 I'm a fiddler and I can play it. John Harford did a good job his version of the song.

so they recorded this somewhere ... then did a video standing outside and added wind noises? okay ...

Hey Tom, Thanks for taking the time to watch our video of this old tune, Lorena. This was filmed live on a cold winter day on Johns Island, SC. The wind noise is live and natural as is our instruments... no studio magic here! The Bluestone Ramblers
