The Dark Souls credits song is called Nameless Song. While it is true that it's meaning would be "Song without a name", I like to think of something different. Throughout the game, all bosses have their own themes. However, the player never gets his own song. Because the player would never be so great to have his own theme. After all, he is just a warrior without a name. This is however, until we finally defeat Gwyn, and so we stop being just another fallen one. Now, we are something else... And like all legends, we get our own song. The nameless song. For we are the nameless one.

I so much prefer the somberness and range of emotion in the DS1 OST over general bombastic-ness of DS3. Like, sure DS3 has more subdued tracks but even those are a little 'too' over the top in most cases.

Awesome!

Both game soundtracks are amazing and at the same level, probably ds3 a little bit better, and have the same quantity of emotion and bombasticness soundtracks, so I don't know what are you talking about .I guess you didn't even hear more than 5 songs from all the ds1 one and ds3 have. The nameless soundtrack is such a beautiful end credits soundtrack, but it's more emotional the end credits soundtrack of ds3, I cry every time I hear it, it just remember me , not only the entire travel I made from Lothric to the ringed city in DS3, it remember me too the entire travel of DS1 and DS2, I remember every boss, every invader, every summon, every person I played with, every soundtrack, every landscape, every npc, just everything. Because it's was supposed to make you feel, remember the entire saga. And it does. I really recommend you to hear it, it's Just beautiful.
@Convicted_Melon3 жыл бұрын
@@ChihiroOfAstora I disagree. Even the most emotional tracks in DS3 are pretty in your face and loud. There's really no somber track like Artorias' or Gwyn's theme, or even the moonlight butterfly's theme. I just think DS3's OST is a little too over the top all the time. It doesn't have as much range.
@ChihiroOfAstora3 жыл бұрын
@@Convicted_Melon Even if I agree that in terms of BOSS music dark Souls 3 don't have a butterfly theme for anyone of them , DS3 have A LOT of emotional soundtrack, even being louder they are emotional at the same time , like abyss watcher , Gael , soul of cinder, Lothric and a lot more, and I have to tell that DS3 soundtrack is better than DS1 even I love both at the same level. But I agree that ds1 have more chill soundtracks. But the ones that are chill soundtracks in DS3 are just magnificent too. But I respect you opinion thought . Also have to comment to not forget about DS2 soundtrack too, really well soundtrack too even if it's not as remember as DS1 and DS3. The majula theme is amazing and the menu theme it extremely hit in your heart, it represents the feeling of being a hollow. And DS1 have bombasticness soundtracks too, the most part being specific, Taurus demon, four kings, gaping dragon, etc, and those are fucking incredible.

This is the most fitting credits song I've ever heard, not gonna lie. A long, troublesome and sometimes beautiful journey comes to an end and this song completely represents my feelings when I first played it. A casual noobie, finally done with the "hardest" game, the endless relief and yet the feeling of sadness because it's over, at least for the first run. Also a rather tragic but hopeful theme which suits well, since this ending implies just more and more suffering as time goes by for the few souls out there still clinging onto life. At least that's what I got from the story first playthrough. I had tears in my eyes the first time I heard this and almost every other time since. If it wasn't for the rushed second half of the game, this game would be my absolute favorite. Still, these games are beautiful man... Souls is really something else. Always enjoyable, even as a "veteran" to the series.

When I first tried out Dark Souls I actually thought it would be too hard. I defeated some sinister looking monster in a dark and stinking place. I paused the game for 2 years just to restart and get my entire being into it. Just then I was able to struggle myself through the more refined mechanics of the game and started to enjoy it for its vast amount of possible ways to engage an enemy. It took me alot of tension, sweat and anger to beat Dark Souls but I prevailed and when the nameless song played all the emotions this game caused me to have were just flaring up and the whole game let me tear up. I really appreciate the journey I had with this game.

I can only second Mad Queen here. Motoi Sakuraba managed to make me cry within the first 30 minutes of a game because of the music that plays in a forest of another game he worked on (Star Ocean the second story) and I was still a kid back then which is why it hit me really hard without me knowing what's going on

@@zangy3748 Eternal Sonata's themes are very touching too. And I am not speaking about Chopin's pieces of course, Motoi Sakuraba worked his magic there as well. It's a fact that he really understands the pulse of the story and the game he working on. He has a very good collection for his own too!!! I cried at Gwyn's theme, I fell in love with this theme!

Interesting. The hardship and bitterweet struggle of another human being is easier to relate to. I learn something new everytime, thanks Atlas.

you should react to "dancer of boreal walley" from dark souls 3. It is the most unique piece in dark souls 3 in many ways.

The unresolved song works with or without a sequel, because even without a sequel, the game's ending is not resolved. There's NG+ and there's a different ending also.

This song in ds1: ah, finally, a journey's end. This is pleasant. This song in ds2: OH GOD OH FUCK RUN HERE THEY COME NO NO NO NO GET AWAY NO RUN RUN FUCK NO NOT THAT WAY NO (Y O U D I E D)

Music frees us from our Egoic Self; liberates us from our thoughts and desires, that's why Dark Souls has such an accomplished soundtrack.

You have to react to sir alonne theme from dark souls 2

Don’t know if you got this recommendation yet but “Baldur’s Gate 3 OST - battle music 3” by Borislav Slavov is definitely worth reacting to!

You should listen to the dancer of the borreal valley (completely different to other ost) and menu theme of DS3!

I'd love it if you reacted to the Majula song from Dark Souls 2. It carries the same kind of thing with "less is more" and has always been a more emotionally impactful song to me.

Whoever told you that the first Dark Souls OST is not as good as the other ones is a liar! xD
