Lorn's Lure is finally here! I've been looking forward tot his since the 2021 prototype and it doesn't disappoint. The environments are MASSIVE and I like the amount of freedom you have to explore them. The only negative is that it you can't carry a backpack full of top-grade cuts of beef while climbing. I like the implied story of the human explorers who came before you- they came down, found a promising biome, sensed the main character's colony, and got cold feet- do they just go home, do they try to get to an unknown place? One gets paranoid, takes a swing at another, and inflicts a near lethal blow- as it not only is damaging, but allows infection. Then, he flees what he's done, either intending on heading towards the player's colony or whathaveyou, only to expire as well from the mold- maybe the fighting ruined both their suits.

@@mysteryromanticgamer3336 I need you to explain this to me. Control = Blame os beyond my understanding.
@meridiasbeacon7669Ай бұрын
@@mysteryromanticgamer3336 CONTROL? Also I feel like the combat in BLAME! is only there because it was almost a necessity to sell the manga. In another universe, the "perfect BLAME!" exists, where the writer just got to write about a dude exploring a megastructure fundamentally NOT designed for humans in mind combat implies a challenge that can be resisted, if you can shoot it with a gun to solve the problem - then it can be killed, or destroyed, or whatever other form of destruction takes place when you nail it in the head with an explosive 50BMG. It doesn't matter if you're fighting Cthulhu, if he can be defeated by a bonk to the forehead (I am well aware of how Cthulhu was defeated, Lovecraft had good ideas, nobody ever said he was a good writer) then how much of an "outer god beyond our comprehension" is he really? The real enemy in BLAME! is, or should be - the megastructure itself. Fundamentally hostile to humans, maybe the most hostile environment you can ever traverse. It makes climbing the Everest and diving to the depths of the Mariana Trench feel like childs' play. It dwarfs the distance difference between the high and low points of both at any given moment, and offers terrain that will make the slippery drops of an avalanche-prone mountain feel like the most solid ground you've ever touched. Just imagine having to climb the stairs in that one panel. The same stairs appear in NaissanceE, as a platforming segment. I can't imagine what it must be like to climb these in person.

Hi! Some areas are quite open and some are more linear, but the main challenge (and draw) with Lorn's Lure is trying to figure out the routes. A lot of the time the way forward is not very obvious. There are no highlighted legdes for you to aim for, you're just presented with an area and have to figure out the best way through it. Plus you can go back and explore more in NG+ when you have all of the upgrades.

This game falls short on its promise to not be frustrating. There is one passage in the game where i'm dying more than in all other parts of the game combined (already 1000+ deaths) because it's an extremely technical chase sequence with an unforgiving timer, unclear pathfinding, absence of checkpoints, there's also a script that kills you if you set foot on a some platforms that look otherwise normal, and, at last, it requires you to perfectly master a grapple that was just given to you and that you could not practice before. I'm thinking of uninstalling the game (that i loved, otherwise) because it's way too hard and the game deliberately kills you.

Is this an early access or did you just cut there to encourage people to play it for themself beyond that part? I wonder how much freedom you have in this game. Depending on what I've seen, it doesn't feel like a whole lot of freedom to explore other than just following the exact route with some deviation for hidden site-seeing or maybe collecties like that crystal you broke. That always has been my problem with this "exploring non-place" genre because as soon as I realize 99% of what I see is just there for the scenery, it literally kills the core element of the genre, the foreboding vastness. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. At least the game has a sorta interesting plot, at least I didn't expect to see NPC in this genre...

Hi! The full been released. This playthrough is just of the first two levels because it's quite a long game - I'd say it takes at lease 8 hours to playthrough.
