Loro Parque Tenerife Vlog May 2022

Join me as I head to Loro Parque in Tenerife for my first ever visit! This beautifully landscaped park is home to a variety of animal experiences, along with the only roller coaster on the island of Tenerife! In this vlog I share on ride footage of the Orca Roller Coaster along with checking out the beautiful theming and landscaping throughout Loro Parque. I also see many of the wonderful animals and much more!

The park is wonderful to walk around with so much theming and landscaping! The animal shows really aren’t my sort of thing, hence why I didn’t watch them.

Oh now i get why the animal shows werent fillmed.. still that being the case id completely boycot the park 100% just for that element. Whales should not be in captivity at all.

I presume they were born in captivity so wouldn't survive in the wild anyway. I suppose you could stop breeding them but then they will be even more endangered than they already are.

@@danielledewitt1 They won't survive, its already been proven with the orca who was in the film Free Willy. There was protests that it should be freed into the wild after filming and they did so. Guess what happened, he became ill and died. The waters in captivity are so throughly cleaned with chemicals the orcas immune system hasn't built up enough strength to survive in sea as there is too much bacteria in it compared to the waters in captivity. There's a lot more to it than just letting one go.

One of my favourite places, I had family on the island for 7 years so went a couple of times a year, been here so many times and even got the cred, Jungle park is good, also Aqua Park in the south of the island.

Went to loro parque and it was a really good !!! Loved it as we stayed in town right near it xxx Don't know if you know but the main penguin exhibit the lights change depending on the time of year as when we went during the summer it would be their winter so it was low lights as if it were continously night time!!!

That little coaster through the plants is pretty cool, Animal Kingdom could do something amazing with an Amazon rainforest themed coaster, I bet there's some safety restrictions having such a big coaster so close to foliage though :(

Feel so sorry for the penguins/orcas/gorillas kept in captivity. :( I’m off to Tenerife soon but wont be visiting here for that very reason.

Well zoos don't want animals in captivity as much as the next person, but with the wild rapidly decreasing as it is we don't have much choice. The animals were born in captivity and don't know any different. They've been brought up in a captive environment so they cannot survive in the wild anyway. Enclosures looked pretty good (better than some in the uk) just seemed to lack enrichment from Shawn's shots.

(I dont support what i'm about to say, but I would not boycot the park either.) Just for information: All Loro parque Orca's were born in captivity in either the park itself or in very harsh environments in other zoos. Loro parque took the orca's in and gave them new life in the park. One orca however wasnt born in captivity, but was found alone in the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands getting stuck and it was going to die. The Dolphinarium in Harderwijk took it in to later go to the Loro parque. The shows are to keep the orcas active and to learn them have a bond with their caretakers and for the education of other people on how rhese orcas lived in those other zoos and why this is better for them. They can't get returned into the wild, so this is the best environment for them.

I’ve been to Loro park a long time ago as a child. Back when the old angry birds game was new. I’ve seen the orca show and the parrot show. My visit to Tenerife was a long time ago and it was my first time travelling by plane. To this day it is still the furthest away from home I’ve ever been.

Enclosures were good sizes and very well themed but they seemed to lack enrichment. Wasn't anything for the animal to do by the looks of it. Plus the penguin Enclosure was good but could be slightly bigger to create more of a expansive feel to replicate the antarctic but i think what ever you try do for animals in captivity it still won't be better than the wild.

I vaguely remember Loro Parque back in 1988 whilst on my family vacation, it’s barely recognisable, it’s much bigger very well themed kept in great condition, I’m not a fan of captivated exploited whales and dolphins as I’ve never actually been interested in animal shows, never been my thing, although I love Shawn’s epic 3 lap special coaster cred POV on ride the Orca express lol 😆 I’m loving your vlogs on both channels that have been really interesting soo relaxing I fell asleep 😴😴😴 binge watching these this afternoon, can’t wait to see Shawn his parents in the swimming pool that’s going to be real fun to watch with the inflatable tyre , your parents are really awesome 🤩 hilarious kind natured people now we know where you’ve inherited your generosity caring funny sense of humour genetics that’s good going Shawn more of a nice compliment there for you

Love lora Park... its such a beautiful island .. do the coach tour of the island and you go to the oldest tree in Europe which has the tradition Spanish kinda feel in the area. Mount tide and masca ( nerve raking but a beaut on the coach) its awesome excursion

Nice animal bird park beautifully laid out. Love the Orca kids coaster the only one on the island. Tenerife great for water parks but if your a roller coaster theme park lover than perhaps the island isn’t for you. Personally I love Tenerife, the weather, the sunshine, the location it’s just stunning! Nice vlog Shawn 👍

Jungle park in the south of the island is really good and also has a ride a little bob sled but more exciting than the orca. Also has an amazing bird show. The san miguel castle medieval nights really good too with real jousting etc.

This place is lovely. The animals are beautiful, but then again i think all animals are beautiful with me being an animal lover. The penguin's and meerkats are awesome. And that alligator was absolutely massive. I wouldn't want to hand feed that bloody thing. No thank you. The place is really nice though, calm & relaxing.

Have seen this park on leaflets, but like Siam Park never visited. But would like to one day visit and experience. This park think could have a log flume, a relaxation boat ride like you suggested aswell maybe a few themed rollercoasters? Did think maybe they could have a transport ride connecting both this park and Siam Park together? But looking at distance, might be a bit hard and costly to plan, get built and run? But then again who knows until its tried & explored? But anyways, cheers for showing another good video, really enjoyed and now going to watch Siam Park Vlog. 😀👍

I love that animal embassy breeding area they have. Last time I visited (2022) they had some baby macaws and cockatoos in there, really interesting to see. The only bad point I see in loro parque is their shows, I feel like they should try to make them a bit more educational and their orca and dolphin tanks would look much better if they gave them a more natural style (the way they look right now is just like a big but empty pool) which is a typical problem in most dolphinariums... Overall I would say loro parque is a pretty nice zoo, definitely one of the best you can visit in Spain.

The coaster reminds me of the one at Boudewijn Seapark in Bruge, the orca theme at least. Have you ever been? Cred is a cred after all, even just for the one coaster. Might fit in for your next trip to mainland Europe?
