Loved the retired teacher remark! Me too. What kind of varnish do you use?
@LorriePopow2 жыл бұрын
Susan said she uses the MSA Golden varnish. When decorating eggshells with dyes or inks only use a varnish that is oil based. Any varnish that can be clean up with water will ruin your artwork. So different varnishes can be used as long as they are oil based.

Could you perhaps dye the eggs with water colour paints? I think I will try that today.

How do you wax the eggs, especially in such a specific design?

Amazing video, thank you so much for an amazing idea! Let me just ask you, how did you etch the egg? I mean, what did you use for it? And how long did you let it work? And if I decide later to draw another wax lines on areas colored with alcohol ink (if I do not want these lines white, bet yellow, for example), can I still do it, will it work?

Etching can be done with solutions such as vinegar, or toilet bowl cleaner. Depending on the strength of the solution will determine how long an egg can be in it. Also the type of egg is another factor. Smaller eggs have thinner shells so that would mean less time. About more lines I'd suggest experiment and see how it comes out.

Is ur egg Russia or other country design way u doing ??
@LorriePopow7 жыл бұрын
Cheryl, the artist that did these alcohol ink eggs, normally writes Ukrainian style eggs. But, for this demo she only used the wax resist method for her designs, and then dabbed alcohol inks on the shells. I'm sure Russia and other country egg artists may have used these techniques.
