Massive respect for all Seiko's sub-brands, Lorus is vfm (although this is a chrono...). So, Lorus ✅, still a long way to go on our list, right? 😜

Definitely prefer these subdials without the 24 hr complication, with a 1/10 second, however, haven’t seen this layout in a mechanical quartz which is a shame, the vd57 is a decent enough movement which provides the subdials I like, but the chrono reset isn’t great. Nice looking piece this one. I also wish all chronographs would include a minute track and not just 5 min markers. Great review as always m8

Me too, adds way more useful functionality that way and I don't mind this movement, definitely not the worse I've ever tested. Thanks for watching

Absolutely love Lorus and Pulsar! Yeah the bracelet is Seiko so its not so good and the loom is the best but generally they are fantastic pieces!

If you can find a PX3211X1 that would be a good fit for you perhaps? Titanium, solar and 37mm so the fit should be on point.

Lorus definitely have some good affordable models, I'm thinking of getting one of their quartz field watches at some point. This one looks really good for that money. I have the same issue like you with the size though. It's a bit too much dial IMO.

I sent those watch straps and yema watch out this morning. They're just in an envelope so I got no tracking numbers or anything. The two leather straps are rally style straps. A brown one with perforations and black one with the bigger holes. Both quick release. I got them from Germany, both same price (£20) and same company. The brown one actually feels quite nice, soft etc, but the hardware not to the quality I usually buy so just ended up sticking with what Im used to. The black one feels stiffer and cheaper for some reason, and the hardware feels lower quality to the brown one too. See what you think, you might have better use for them because I wasn't going to use them.

I have not seen this one on sale here in Aus, but Lorus is on sale everywhere. A good looking watch at the price point and a nice size, nothing wrong with quartz.......

You may have more luck in Australia with Alba which is the Asian version of Lorus. The Alba Titanium is better than the Lorus Titanium ... because the Alba Titanium also has the Lumibrite dial which the Lorus Titanium does not have.

I ended up getting just the Lorus Lumibrite because weight wise it is incredibly light even without being titanium - plus the extra cost to get it to the U.S. from Japan pushed the price beyond what I thought was reasonable for the specs. Still for reviewing the Alba is a fantastic watch.

I mean, being a sister company to seiko and meant to be a more affordable option to them I'm not surprised the bracelet is a let down. Everything else about it is spot in though. I've been eyeing up a few of their watches.

I like the touch of red on the watch which is great more color on hands make it pop don't know why more companies don't do it as much this guy looks like it could be a strap monster

Agree mate, companies shouldn't be scared to dabble with colour. The colourway might limit the straps options a little but it could have potential

That watch reminds me a lot of similar Casio Edifices. You are lucky mate, you have a lot less hair on your hands than mine, folded bracelets are a nightmare for me.

Well the watch head doesn't look half bad, as you said the dial is not overcluttered. I don't believe the indices are applied, they rather look embossed to me. Its quite surprising that the bracelet doesn't pull hairs. But other than this the bracelet is rather disposable. If it was my watch I'd replace it with a nice strap.

They could be as they are very slim, it's a little hard to tell sometimes when they're this thin. Agree on the bracelet it's definitely not great but a cheap leather would fix that. Thanks 👍

Not a band product for basically a discounted Seiko. An interesting point is that I have not heard any QC issues with these watches, why can’t the mother company do the same.

Another interesting inexpensive watch to review is the Casio MTP-E129D-1AVDF ... now it is quartz, horrible rolled rink bracelet, only 50m water resistance ... so on paper you'd go NO THANK YOU ... but it is a Casio, a day date (almost Hamilton style) and looks stunning - and once I bought an inexpensive Marine Nationale strap (from a company called cheapest NATO strap) to put on it and it is incredibly comfortable. I got the watch off of Amazon.

En France, lorus est a nouveau commercialisé notamment via internet. Seiko semble abandonner Pulsar. Si on rajoute Alba en Amérique du Nord, ça fait 3 marques qui proposent des modèles proches aux mouvements identiques. Dommage que la production soit Chinoise, c'est de qualité correcte mais les boites sont en acier assez clinquant..

I was going to make the same comment. The running seconds hand does limit the usefulness of the tachymeter.
