Rams fan here. Good stuff, guys! And just think: even with the departure of Raheem Morris, Chris Shula, who coached the LB’s and pass rush for the Rams last year, stayed and has been elevated to DC. So the same guy who was most responsible for turning last year’s rookies Kobie Turner and Byron Young into first-year stars is still there to work magic with Jared Verse and Braden Fiske. Niners fans and casuals are taking the Niners as the chalk in the NFC West, but you see the “vibes” and continuing momentum of the Rams rebuild clearly - whereas the Niners have been at redline for several years now trying to win a Super Bowl but falling short. If you’re so inclined, as Lions fans, would love a follow-up from you regarding how you project Jonah Jackson and Jerry Jacobs will fit in with the Rams. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for much for watching! You guys have been building such a sneaky good defense. I was mad I didn’t mention Kobie after we recorded. I just really loved these draft picks and wanted to shed light on them but that DLine is gonna be a PROBLEM moving forward if even one of these guys hits. *I think they both will* As for Jonah and Jerry. Jonah is very good, he’s just injury prone. If he plays a whole season I’ll be floored, he missed the NFCCG and frankly I think it really hurt us down the stretch (among other obvious things in that game) but if he can play 13-15 games he will be a stud. Jerry is terrible. I’m sorry, he just is. He is not an NFL db. If you have him in there on rotations he can be a body, but if you need him to play any serious minutes it’s a bad sign for your secondary as a whole.

@@putmeincoachpod2024 - Thanks for the reply! Fortunately Jerry Jacobs was an emergency pick-up due to the injury to Derion Kendrick and the Rams have other options at CB. (Will be interesting to see how both the Rams’ and Lions’ secondaries perform this year.) As for Jonah Jackson, if he goes down, I suppose the Rams could always slide Steve Avila back to guard where he played great year 1 and see if rookie Beaux Limmer is another patented Rams late-round steal, at center. OK, you guys have earned a sub: most sports KZbinrs don’t engage with viewers to this degree of thoroughness. Truly appreciated. Looking forward to game 1 of the regular season!

One more thing: you mentioned Tutu Atwell in the video, but showed a picture of Demarcus Robinson. Both these guys showed promise for the Rams last year. (I’m particularly optimistic about Demarcus.)

Andy, Andy, Andy... you put _John_ Harbaugh among the great coaches? John "we put all decision-making in Lamar's hands instead of helping him in that game against the Chiefs so the loss is All _HIS_ Fault" Harbaugh? He hung Lamar out to dry for 3 years under Roman then abandoned him & did the same again in the playoffs. I joke about Matt Eberflus having some magical hold on NFL fans but is it _all_ HCs? Because it seems to me everyone is okay talking about how bad they are only after they get fired. But even then, the reverence with which people treat them is staggering. When Bellichick said "Mac Jones is out QB of the future" despite Zappe being about 2X as good at the time fans not only typed that out verbatim in comments sections to shut down all discussion, people stopped criticizing *Matt Patricia* because an HC had spoken in his defense. The NFL is like high school. It seems that everyone uses it as a tool to Sound Cool by saying they like the same things about it as the cool kids do, like motorcycles or a band. But what could you possibly have as evidence that Harbaugh is great? The continuous under-performance of his roster? Isn't that what Staley did?

The rams were also robbed of several games by poor reffing to include Detroit

No sir, you were "robbed" by your inability to score in the redzone. Plain and simple.

@@markmazar No he wasn't. Its the playoffs, refs are gonna swallow their whistles in those moments. It was handsy but nothing egregious. Hence the no call.
