A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician, on the road at age 17 for two years, then went part-time ever since, while holding day careers including chef and spiritual health care while raising a family.
As a producer I've made hundreds of my own songs for media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I mostly abandoned the prog genre in the 90s but have returned to it now with vigour 30 years later. So much prog! My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk / acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electronic as well).

Los Jaivas are definitely one of the best progressive rock bands that have existed worldwide. They are on the same level as Jethro Tull, Genesis, Pink Floyd, ELP or possibly higher than them. Hola Dean, lo más sorprendente es que este tema es de 1975 y las "flautas largas" que tienen un cacho al final se llaman trutrucas son instrumentos mapuches (indígenas chilenos). Saludos

Cuando se hace una afirmacion de este tamaño, lo minimo es dar y proporcionar una fuente, y asi seria creible. No dudo que ellos, como cualquier otra persona o musico escucho ciertas tendencias y tipos d musica, pero eso no necesariamente prueba que tuvieron influencias, a lo mas se puede inferir que les dio amplitud en su horizonte musical. En casi todos sus trabajos siguieron ritmos tradcionales o de raiz, fusionando instrumentos alejados de la raiz junto con los autoctonos. Y eso puede parecer muchas cosas, variando desde lo primitivo hasta lo psicodelico.

When making a claim of this size, the bare minimum is to give and provide a source, and then it would be credible. I do not doubt that they, like any other person or musician, listened to certain tendencies and types of music, but that does not necessarily prove that they had influences, at most it can be inferred that it gave them breadth in their musical horizon. In almost all of their works they followed traditional or root rhythms, fusing instruments far from the roots together with autochthonous ones. And that can sound like a lot of things, ranging from the primitive to the psychedelic.
