Hi! Y'all a shout out to you all. I also love this tune. I'm from the East Side of Los Angeles. Hey I am glad to have been part of Los Lobos. I am Charlie Tovar and played congas and percussion in the early days. I played in the album " Just another band from ELA." Btw I still play my congas whenever and wherever. 😂 Later Gente! 👍😁🙏

I have a story. Poignant but true. As I mentioned I played with Los Lobos. Many gigs. Gas money y' know. Anyways I went to Tower Records back in the day man. In Hollywood on Sunset. I asked the counter staff about Los Lobos album. He said to look in the " Foreign section." He said never heard of Los Lobos. Around '85? Yet you can find lots of British band records. Aren't Brits foreign? East Los Angeles us part of L.A. County.

It's a song causes a dilemma. It's the kind of song that if you heard it come on in a nightclub, such is its rythm, your instinct would be to get up and dance to it, but then if you knew the lyrics you would wonder how appropriate such a response would be. It's also the kind of song that is all too rare today, ie basolutely brilliantly. Muchos gracias to Los Lobos and to loslobosmusic for uploading it. Bueno.

Colors is a great movie directed by Dennis Hopper. The guy who played Frog(Trinidad Silva) I once met a couple months after the movie came out, we used to cruise Whittier Boulevard and we saw him down there one weekend. Two weeks after that he was killed on that same street it was the summer of 1988-an automobile accident-really sad I think he would have gotten a lot more roles.I think he was in a movie with Weird Al and they had already started filming it when he died .Cool dude he was also in The Jerk.He also was on Hill Street Blues if I remember right as well.
Trinidad Silva stole every scene he was in on "Hill Street Blues." He played a Latino gang leader trying to keep peace with the police. Unforgettable actor.
