@idylledoll6 жыл бұрын
H B yes and that video pissed me off. I always ask for a smaller piece cus I HATE wasting food and usually too much cake makes me feel sick even if I love certain cakes and pastry (depends on the flavour and type of cake) so if it’s too big and I end up not liking it I’ll feel bad to waste it but if it’s a lighter type of cake I may have a larger piece. Wanna know why? Because it makes money. It works hand in hand with the diet industry, who does the same thing. It creates problems and provides "solutions" that don't work so you'll come back every time. Overly restrictive diets make you binge, which gives said junk food industry more money. The difference is that while the diet industry kills, there's nothing bad about treating yourself every once in a while.

Actually, what one should really have is a balanced diet, like a little bit of everything. However what most of the diets(like the fad diets) which are targetted mostly towards women, are really very unhealthy. They mostly focus on starvation, or like eating only one type of food or food group, rather than building muscles and increasing total strength and health. Those definitely are not okay and very harmful to the body and psyche. Obesity too is harmful, as it comes with the added risk of diseases like diabetes, heart problems, depression, and chronic pain in the knees, back etc.

Scientists at UNC reviewed data from 75 studies conducted between January and June involving 400,000 coronavirus patients. They found obese people had a 46% greater risk of catching Covid-19 than non-obese people, and a 113% increased risk of hospitalization. Plus their chances of ending up in the intensive care unit were 74% greater than those who were not obese. They also had a 48% greater risk of dying from the virus, the team reported Wednesday in the journal Obesity Reviews.

We are all paying for the costs of obesity just so you know. In a collective society where you’re helping to pick up the tab on somebodies preventable diseases, it is absolutely your business. That’s not to say that society shouldn’t treat people with respect, just that we shouldn’t encourage unhealthy lifestyles like smoking, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, and over eating.

Ellie Tenenbaum Food addiction or addiction to overeating is based on trauma. It’s not “wrong.” That’s so simplistic and judgmental. It’s not about a person being wrong. It’s about a behavior that feels right in the moment because it’s a coping mechanism. Just like drug addiction is. The consequences are shame, self loathing and suicide, lots of times.

@@PinkyPuff69 Nope food addiction isn't always linked with trauma, in fact I'm willing to argue that the huge percentage of people who have it didn't get it due to trauma. Good food triggers dopamine and just like anything else that does that you'll start to want it more and more and the more you indulge your desire for a dopamine triggering substance the stronger your attachment to it becomes. End of subject. I understand that there are people who have medical reasons as to why they are overweight, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is dangerous. Can't wait to wear crop tops! Weight loss is easy! You just gotta actually put in the effort! The reason this woman struggled is because she starved herself. Losing weight isnt a "diet". Its a LIFESTYLE change. I used to not move much and eat so many sweets and fried chicken and chips. Now I eat only whole foods, eggs, organic meats, whole grains, veggies and fruits. I hardly eat chips and i eat sweets only 2 times a week. The switch was slow but i did it. I still get enough of the "bad" foods that i don't feel like I'm missing out. I workout 6/7 days a week. I have much more stamina and strength than I ever did before. I'm put good into my body and I get good out of it. This isn't something I'm quitting in a year. No this is something I'm maintaining for the rest of my life. I always want to be healthy and fit. I want to actually be able to move easily when I'm old. I see so many elderly obese people at work that can barely walk or ride a mart cart and it just motivates me so much to not end up like that. I work in a grocery store.
