Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction. No doubt the playing is good and competent. But to me it was too prominent. It was either over miced, or played too hard over the other instruments. Her voice had to fight though. It's more of an arrangement and sound mix question.

So dang good. Eminem is extremely emotive with his lyrics and performances, and I think this version loses none of that. Fitting the rap rhythms into a much more musical rendition must have been difficult, but you guys managed it in spectacular fashion. Well done!

Having heard the original song by Eminem, I really like this cover too. The jazz music gives it a different pace and emotional state, like a sense of desperation and struggle with a little less aggression I guess? Either way, it gives a new interpretation to a classic song, and it shows how non-verbal influences can affect communication. Good on you :-)

yo she's clearly not trying to catch up em. The genre is not rap buy gypsy jazz. Making one of Eninem's masterpiece into something entirely different and should be appreciated.

Very well done. I feel I need to say this. When Eminem did this song it had more up beat like he was fighting for survival and winning. This cover, especially 3/4 of the ways through, it felt very sad. The words just cut..... I think the singer pronounced the words much more clearly than the original. I understood it all. I don't know what more to say.
