Hi, Do you have a video for installing the rubber shock boots as it shows in your video? Thank you

Would you happen to have any sort of trick for lining up the bottom of the shock, where it mounts to the control-arm? I had a hell of a time doing that! 😠

This video should be titled "How to change oil in DBXL/E shocks." There are six more pieces inside that shock body, which make up the valving. See page 96 of the DBXL-E manual for exploded view.

I want to replace the oil in mine, but I'm a very light user compared to you, I don't like to bash or do high speeds with mine. What weight oil would you suggest for mostly crawling and low speed use?
@IllusionSector5 жыл бұрын
Is *yours* a DBXL-E too, or is it a crawler?
@Scottyman996 жыл бұрын
Alex, how is the shock performance now with the higher weight oil? I noticed in most XL-E videos, it sounds like it's bottoming out every time. Is it just a noisy lander or is it actually bottoming out? Also, have you considered trying the Hot Racing reservoir shock upgrade kit? I'm curious if it would make any real difference considering the real problem seems to be the relatively short shock stroke.
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
Scott L the shocks are short shock stroke but also the vehicle is 30 lbs with batteries so depending on your skill jumping it may bottom out personally I like the way I set up the shocks

Just another question sorry to comment hear. Losi dB xmas or Traxxas 8 if you had to chose one which would you go for? About to hit the buy button me feeling to losi more. Many tbanks
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
Personally I would go with the traxxas x maxx 8s version instead of the losi don't get me wrong the losi is a bad ass rig but for fun and all around factor I would strongly suggest the X maxx 8s it's a grate vehicle I own 2 x maxx trucks honestly I would never buy a nether losi product again I'm dealing with crapy quality control is crap on the losi
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
Witch ever vehicle you choose go thru the front rear and center diffs and if you get a x maxx 8s change the shock fluid to 42.5 weight is best for handling and big jumps if you want

Does anyone make they top shock cap in alloy?
@eatshitful6 жыл бұрын
SOOO much FALSE info in this video! These shocks are identical outside to the gas version DBXL just a different color! The rear shock oil is the same 3000wt oil as the gas version! The front does differ in setup tho. The front on the E is 40wt oil NOT 30! Piston holes in the front is only 2mm where the rear is the same 3.5 as the gas version! DUDE READ THE MANUAL and you would know this info!
@Point_Particle6 жыл бұрын
On page 100 of my DBXL-E manual, it has the front and rear shock pistons listed as 2.0mm, and 40wt oil in both. Also, the rear shock shaft is ~5mm longer than the front.

Point Particle longer you say? Can you get a side by side pic or video? If the latest ones are longer I want to put them in mine!
