Thanks! I really had passed on it originally but seeing them there in front of me in the hobby shop i could not resist. It is not too often that a big company like this releases such a short run of anything! I am pretty confident there will be a new release of a regular version coming out soon. It just does not make since to go through all the cost and effort to make a brand new kit and only sell 5000 of them to the world. So I think in the next month or two there will be a global release of the standard version and I may grab one of those to run around. I think it will be big enough to do pretty well on the track and it does feel really nice!

LOL, true! It stemmed from a pointless back and forth comment on a FB group that is usually pretty good about not being full of stuff like that. So it was kind of a jab at those that snub their noses up at shelf queens, I was very surprised my little hobby shop ended up getting 4 of them! Honestly I am surprised they got one in stock but super surprised they got 4! It seemed like it was destiny!

It is a nice shirt, I got it from really nice guy in another country!! LOL! I am pretty sure that they will be coming out with a regular version of this soon. I don't think they would have gone through all the trouble and expense to make mold and all the production processes for just 5000 trucks at this price and only in the US. No way they have made any money on it! I am pretty sure it will be released world wide very soon as a regular version just like the JRX2 buggy. Take care Mark!

Yes, before I put it in the case I will be working on getting them to all lay down nicely. It is the one tool I don't have out there in the garage, I have heat guns but those are way to hot! I hop to get the case made for it soon and get it out on display!

I did find it odd that they made such limited run of these and not something like10K of them. I guess for a change they really wanted to make something truly limited edition! I am not sure if they are coming out with a regular version or not. I have seen on a few sites they still have them listed as pre-order or backorder so maybe they are going to release an un-serial numbered version for the masses. I hope so as I will probably get one to bash around with! It does look like it would be a fun on e to run on the track! I will probably start working on the display cabinet soon, if I don't it will get buried in the long list of things I forget and it will be another year before I do anything with it! LOL!

LOL! I do not mind shelf queen at all. It is a pretty, pretty princess in my eyes! Yeah, I do well ordering stuff from home, I have more restraint. Seeing things in the shop make me weak!! To be fair the TRX4M was a one I had been after since Christmas and they only ever have the Broncos in stock so when they finally had the Defender it was a no brainer to grab that one. I really had not planned o getting this JRXT but since they are limited edition and they were sitting right there it just happened!! I was supervised on this trip so I got the ok to get both!! that part is all that matters, staying out of trouble!!!

Yeah, it was kind of jab at the folks that like to rag on people for doing exactly what you said, enjoy the hobby as they like it! I recently saw a post about it and the comments section went all over the place and just shook my head and closed the app... LOL! Now to be fair 15 years ago I was one of those folks laughing at others with shelf queens and NIB kits just sitting around. But I only had a few cars and usually half of them were waiting for replacement cars so I could not understand having so many you did run them all around all of the time! now I have the dedicated crew of bashers and runners that I don't have to and I am very proud I was able to get myself into a position to do that. We all enjoy it in a different way and there is so much out there for everyone I just don't understand why these debates keep happening but it is the internet so I shouldn't be surprised!! It is a really great looking truck! I am very confident there will be another release of these very soon of regular ones. I just don't see them investing so much time and money into designing, producing and packaging just 5000 of these and calling it quits. I am sure in the next couple months there will be a big global release of them so everyone can have one. I may get one of those to bash around as I do think it would be a good one to run around on the track. I reallllly wish they would do them in 1/10 scale. I would totally get them if they were! I also think they are full of beans for saying they wanted to not harm the vintage market. There are dozens of ways to prevent it from affecting that and Tamiya has been re-releasing cars for decades and has one of the biggest vintage markets out there! I think think they were covering their tails after the backlash from the JRX2 release... I may still be a little salty about it LOL!!!

I think most of them will probably run on something like a carpet track. We don't have any local and I am not going to be allowed to start carpeting the basement to make one! LOL! I am happy with just having it and and will probably knock out a quick display case for it soon. Just something to make it a little extra!!

This one looks awesome! I have to get my hands on my hobby shop RC. I got some much stuff over the years from Chinese vendors that I never had the time to get into the better brands as much I would like except for Tamiya because I grew up with them and love them. I had a Losi buggy years ago but there was no Arrma, Red Cat or Traxxas around back then. Now that I don't get much to review I need to get my hands on some of this stuff but I'm cheap and with a family it's not always in the budget. It's a lot a easier when the stuff is free lol

Yeah I totally understand. For the longest time I really had to plan for a new one but now it is a bit easier. With the kids grown and out of the house there is more budget and time for silly stuff like this! There is a plethora of kits out there and it can be very overwhelming trying to find something to fit your style and budget as it is easy to get lost down a rabbit hole and next thing you know you have 7 kits you really want to get and get frustrated trying to pick just one! I do it all the time!

I am very much the same as I really enjoy the build and all that more than running them. Almost all of the ones in my collection have been run at least once but I am getting to the point I am not too worried about it. I have the dedicated beater cars for running and not worrying about scuff, breakages and then being a bit dirty. Most I want clean and mint!!

I have a strong feeling there will be an un-numbered release of these coming very soon! I think they did this for fun and to promote the release of them. I just don't see them going to all the trouble of design, machining, production and all the other stuff for just a run of 5000 trucks. I am not sure what they will do to change them up for a regular release but I am pretty it is coming soon! I really wish that they were 1/10 scale too, I am still a little bitter about the JRX2 as mini, I still have not gotten one of them and doubt I will. It is too low and small to do me any good. I think they would be raking in the cash if they had done these in 1/10 scale but what the heck do i know about marketing I guess!

Cool that you got one of the mini JRXTs! I'm keeping mine as a collectible too. You should drain the oil out of shocks too..Ive had a few of the mini JRX2 shocks leak with no use.

Not a bad idea, they all feel like they are full at different levels already. No signs of leaking but each one feels different for sure! I will be working on the display case for it as soon as I can get to it. I have gotten so far behind on things I want to and need to get done! LOL!

I actually have two of them, the other has a old Parma buggy body on it. I also have the mini LST as well. I have to get that one working the goofy synthesized radio system pooped out on it. I think almost all the original radio gear for my old Losi minis has gone bad over the years. I think maybe one of the original mini-t systems might work. I have swapped them all over to Spektrum receivers (except the LST) to be able to still run them. I do a once over of all of them a while back in this video -kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2SniqZsn8mZqbs

It is hard to not take it out for a test run, one of the first things I did was take the battery out and put it in storage! LOL! Makes it a little bit easier! If it were like a Tamiya limited edition of anything between 10K and 1 million units I probably would have but being there are only 5K of these in the world... I can resist! LOL! I am pretty confident there will be a regular version releasing in the next month or so. I do not see a company in todays market going through the cost and effort it takes to make only 5000 of a something like this. This was their promotion or feeler for the regulars run of them I am sure.

I think it's a cool truck! I don't personally have any memories of this one, the original 10th scale, so I didn't get excited about it. So there is just those 5000 of them? I hope someone like you got their hands on them and enjoy them in the way you choose to! I'm all for running all my RC cars, but people are different. I'm sure in the future, some collector will be thrilled to find your car in mint condition, rather than one that has been run, I hope that makes sense.

Yeah it may never be worth much much more than the purchase price or it could shoot up in value since there are only 5000 of them, either way I am happy just having one. I used to scoff and laugh at guys who would do this but that was back when I had 4 or 5 cars and usually half of them were broken to some degree so I could not imagine having cars just sitting around doing nothing. Now I have so many I don't have time to run them all and have the dedicated ones to run and and not care about and then the rest may get run every now and then just when I have the urge to see them out. So having one that will never be run is not a big deal at all. If anything I feel a little bad there may be someone out there that really wanted one and missed out and desperately wants to drive one. I had initially passed on them but seeing them in person at the hobby shop, I figured I had to go ahead and get one, it seemed like fate at that point! Maybe at some point someone will be blown away they get to have one that has never been run before and totally make there day!

It's a very cool truck. There's a local track that had a few running a separate class. Although, I found two sites that still have them it will be interesting if Horizon can truly stick to the limited edition if they are popular. On the Horizon and Amain sites they are saying they are expecting a restock in April. May be they are going to come out with another edition in a different color, striping, etc.

My track it too rough for it, the little guys get tossed all around and my other spot is in the yard and it is going to lugging around dragging itself through the grass. I have picked it up several times at the hobby shop and cannot convince myself it is a good idea at all! If someone opens a carpet track near me then maybe!

Yeah I was a bit disappointed that these were released as mini kits and not 1/10. Of course the said it was to preserve the vintage market which is a load of garbage because it would be very easy to mold in markings on the parts or mold them in a dark grey or something to denote they are not originals. It is cool for what it is but certainly not as cool as it could have been in 1/10th scale!

Just a question: If an rc company is making an rc car a limited production Rc, and know well and good that there will be collectors and users alike buying these, why wouldn’t they just make a roller version for the shelfers, with no motor or electronics and sell the version with the whole kit and kaboodle as runners for the people who want to run them . Makes perfect sense to me… 🤪

You have a point, I think at this point the electronics are a smaller part of the cost than the freight is to get them here! I know a lot of people got theirs and went out for a run with them, others refuse to break the seal. So for a company it is probably easier to appeal to the general masses and offer it RTR. Also, I believe there is another run of these coming. They will be a regular version and may not have some of the features of this on or will be in a different livery. It doesn't make financial sense for them to make the molds and production process and all that related stuff for just 5000 trucks! I am betting in a moth or two there will be more of them hitting the shelves in a regular release!

No, Losi is stupid and has only released the classics in the small scale minis which is annoying. If they would do them in 1/10 scale they would sell like crazy. In the small scale it made a buzz for a while but in the end most sat on the shelves and went on sale 6 months later to try and move them on.

Yeah, it was not easy to leave it alone but I took the battery out and put it in storage so help resist the temptation of "one quick run"!! Who knows, in 6 months I may break and run it anyways but I doubt it. I will get a case built and get it on display as soon as I can. Take care Fred, I hope you doing well!

It is one of the few that won't get run. All the others have a do get run from time to time. This one was gotten as just a collectable. I have always been collecting something since I was a kid, sports cards, comics, RC and others. It is just part of me I guess!

That's funny as i got an email from Amain this morning and it had the JRXT for pre-order... No stores in Australia have any that I've seen.. pre-order$ have vanished to .

Yeah I have noticed a few sites have them still listed as pre-order or back order. I am thinking they are going to release a regular version of it and this run of 5000 is just the "special" run of them that were serial numbered. I guess we will find out in another month or so if it happens or not. I thought it was odd that only 5K were being made or something that would be so sought after.
