Alan Davies is very empathetic and you can feel he has a great love for animals. I love how funny he is on the QI show and I am increasingly impressed with everything I learn about him. It seems he always works towards the positive, no matter what life has dealt him. Very few people have that kind of drive not to choose negativity. I was delighted to see him hosting this show. Another endearing thing about him.

Yeah, I felt so sorry for him and his three dogs! That was such a sad goodbye. Richard has a lot of courage, bless him! I was so, so happy on hearing Nanouks story later. She has found the perfect place to be and she seemed so relaxed and happy. Her new dad is giving her a lot of confidence and walks around the park. From what Richard said to them this is exactly what he was hoping for. I'm sure the other two wonderful girls also found great homes. And if not - well maybe Richard found another landlord instead and got them back! :D (I know it's unlikely, but we'll never know and I like the thought)

the chicks are probably just chicks that were euthanised due to being roosters, since they arent kept for the egg industry, and better to use them to feed a racoon dog than to compost

They’re not dogs! They are wild animals, and aren’t suitable as pets…they will tear you to pieces if provoked, in their minds not yours, as well as each other (mainly the opposite sex, if not introduced correctly). If you’re interested in learning a bit more about these animals, try to find the episode with Dr Scott Miller treating a brother and sister and being totally apprehensive while the owners of the sanctuary are highly amused! Too funny! They’re good friends of Scott’s, by the way!

This requires legislation. It should be illegal to refuse a tenant because of their dogs. Dogs are family.
@shapienails30672 жыл бұрын
I don't want to sound 'unfeeling" , but I've seen & heard horror stories of tenants owning dogs/animals. Untrained- unwatched dogs will chew on woodwork & or scratch up door casings, doors & wood floors. One tenant my parents had started puppy selling out of their rented home. Let them mess all over - pee /poop saturated into the wood floors/rugs. I can go on & on, but you have the picture. My parents had to practically gut their house. It's why some landlords just can't trust people. It's a sad situation all around.
@HeavensMemory2 жыл бұрын
@@shapienails3067 Or even worse: The tenants have pets, mess up the whole place and then sneak off over night, leaving the poor animals to dy if no one notices the situation. Have heard several stories like this. A friend of mine wanted to adopte a cat but the landlord refused to allow it, because the former tenant had two cats, which tore up the whole place and that big brain lady had the idea to flush cat litter down the toilett... in a three storrie house where she lived at the top. The whole pipe system top to bottom got blocked. I can see, why a landlord might act like that, but it is still sad and I feel for all the caring pet owners, which get refused.
@shapienails30672 жыл бұрын
@@HeavensMemory Wow that's really bad!! A place I moved in always had a littler box smell when the heat would come through the register/floor vents. While investigating I found a half-full heat vent of used kitty litter. Not sure if it got swept down or the box was close to it, at one time. It's scary knowing these clueless people walk among us.🙄 I could not sleep or even go about my daily life, leaving an animal behind.

OMG as a dog nana it absolutely makes my blood boil see I a skinny dog let alone 2. I honestly don't know why people get a dog if they can look after them. My boy and I were watching this and he started whining at the tv. Even he knew. It breaks my heart into a trillion pieces seeing dogs go for food like that. It made me cry. I could never even imagine doing this to an animal. It's heartless and senseless....all you have to do is ask for help, its out there, you just have to look for it and ask. Like the guy who had to re home his pups, that's what an animal lover does, he knew he couldn't take care of them so he asked for help, poor guy. When i hear someone say dogs are mans best friend, but when I see how humans treat some animals or what humans have done to some animals, I struggle to say the same for humans. Thankgod for vets, sanctuaries and rescue centres and the SPCA organisations, they tirelessly and selflessly work day and night taking care of these poor animals that come into thier care, making sure they live a good life and are well taken care of. Some of the transformations are really amazing. I really admire the work they do. I know I couldn't do that kind of job, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I know I couldn't handle seeing animals in pain every day.

It's a shame not more jurisdictions are longer Ontario. Landlords (with a few highly specific exceptions) are not allowed to kick you out if you have dogs or cats, even if you signs lease saying "no pets". You can literally sign "no pets", move in on Monday, and on Tuesday bring in two Rottweilers, three cats, and a parrot and, add long as they're not disturbing the neighbours, there's nothing the landlord can do.

If you do anything too drastic, raccoon dogs currently in the trade process will suffer. People panicking over legal trouble for having their pet are more likely to abandon them or kill them.

I am finding it increasingly hard to watch how we justify saving some animals at the expense of others. These programs should include videos of those helpless baby chicks being slaughtered to feed a raccoon dog or birds of prey. The rats & mice brutally killed for snake food. Not to mention the farm animals, including horses turned into dog & cat food. Wouldn't have much of a feel good factor would it to see all the killing that is behind feeding that cute hungry doggy that's just been rescued. We need to accept responsibility for all animals before taking any moral high ground on animal welfare.
