Why so many dislikes? Still something to do with Agad? FYI, the copyright claim has been retracted, so there is no need to dislike new videos from SLCC anymore. Eric Rosen is an awesome guy. He does not deserve so many dislikes.

@drumetul_dacic6 жыл бұрын
Absolut. Fiecare are dreptul la propriile alegeri.

At 16:26 i think its possible to capture the rook. Instead of moving the bishop. I think you should play g3 if Nh3 then Kg2(play Kg2 anyway if knight goes somewhere else), Knight is forced to g5, then play Bb2. I think rook the rook is gone. EDIT: Of course he can sacrifice the knight to save the rook. And playing Bb2 first ends in a similar way.

This is a great format! "Jerry" of this KZbin channel sometimes does the same thing with 15 minutes games. kzbin.infovideos Maybe it is a good idea for ones own training to think out loud and record it, to analyse the games afterwards. To have a good routine for ones thought process is very important. I like to start out with thinking about forcing moves and mating patterns to see how they can be made happen. But that's probably not the most sophisticated approach against good players.

At 14:24, yes perhaps the annoying thing is that Eric conveniently has somebody nearby reminding him that his knight on D6 is hanging when he was getting ready to drop his pawn on B4. How is that fair? And people are wanting to know why there are so many dislikes?

To all Eric Rosen fans in the commentaries: there is nothing nice about this person. He charges his students no less than $80 an hour. It's not illegal to look for useful idiots, but it is not nice either. His lessons are not even very insightful. A good example is this video: here he is just playing blitz online and calls it a "strategy session". How much strategic knowledge you took away from this video, really?
@eric-rosen6 жыл бұрын
Hey! I’m sorry you’re inclined to share such negativity, but I’ll do my best to respond… Yes- I do charge $80/hour. Like any business, I have to adjust my rates based on demand, which has been quite high lately. I work with players who are top in the country for their age group and have also worked as a second for players during elite tournaments (mainly focusing on opening preparation). I also work with beginner players who see my content and like my teaching style. Recently, I’ve actually been trying to reduce the number of hours I teach so I have more time to produce free content for the online community. Regarding this lecture, it is not always easy to find a topic that appeals to a wide range of viewers. The live audience had complete beginners in the room as well as players near expert level. I’ve found that playing games with commentary is one nice way to demonstrate both simple and complex concepts. On top of this, I did make the effort to show how tools can be used effectively on lichess to for self-study. See 23:13

A bit dishonest to say someone is “not a nice person”. Using a personal attack to represent a disagreement on their teaching style is stupid
@chieffanLJ275 жыл бұрын
@@eric-rosen i was going to say, teaching many people, even if they are on the same level, isnt anywhere close to 1 on 1. 1 on 1, you can focus on that persons specific weaknesses, and what they want to improve on, and go from there
