Hey Mark! I'm sure that you won't get around to reading this - but I've enjoyed watching you, and occasionally commenting, since your college days. It's been fun, and having lived in Indiana all my live I was disappointed when you abandoned us - but each person has to find their own path. I just turned 70, so I'm of that "older" generation. I had a conservative, but very supportive (in every way EXCEPT sexually) family, so I knew enough to bide my time until I was independent enough to truly be "out". Lost my "virginity" when I was 34. Glad you didn't have to wait that long. I'm a very strong-willed person, so I have never had need to for help with my situation or direction. I'll continue to enjoy watching you "grow up" (at the risk of being offensive, I think you still have a little bit to do - but just living should be a continual "growing up" experience), hoping that you find just the right person to share your life with. I would have sworn that "you know who" (your college partner) was it, but that just wasn't to be. I'm glad that you do have chances to come back to Indiana to visit family now and then - and get re-grounded in that solid mid-west strength of character. I certainly continue to wish you all the best!!

I recently learned that I was suppressing my own self and my own sexuality for years without even knowing it. By the way I spoke about myself and just so many things that I never knew about myself until I went to therapy thinking oh i thought I was talking positively and I wasn’t it was all a way to hide the truth of who I truly was, so to finish this comment, I think it’s very important to be true to who you are, accept yourself before anything and come out and just live. I feel like at 27 I finally came out once again but for reals this time. I know this exact feeling! I was in college in Austin Texas, I was a month away from turning 21. I was “religious” and even in a Christian fraternity. I decided that this was enough and I got on tinder. Met an older guy who moved to Austin to work in tech. We hit it off and dated for three years. All those feeling you talk about in this video are so on point. That’s how I felt on the drives to his apartment. My life was forever changed after this… for the better. Honestly my gay virginity for great in middle school I knew a guy and we become friends and we started to flirt over the phone. One day I came over to his and he showed me a tree in a forest and it was covered in beautiful pink flowers🌸 we sat under the tree and watch the sun beams ☀️ through the tree branches and the pretty pink flowers. When I was in our equivalent of high school, the only queer representation accessible in big midia were mocking versions of gay men, specially in brazilian midia. I was lucky to discover other perspectives of queerness through the internet. Even when I wasn't able to understand english very well I still watched your vlogs and movies like Shelter(at the time, dub and sub version in portuguese weren't available) and read books like Geography Club. Because of that I was able to make out with dudes without feeling shameful. Maybe, if was exposed to these others types of representations earlier, I would have lost my virginity in a more healthy way and wouldn't feel guilty for doing it with a man
