Welcome to my first playthrough of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! I have just finished playing Final Fantasy VII Remake for the first time. I've NEVER played the original Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core, nor any other FF game for that matter (FF7R was my first). I have not played the demos, and I've not watched ANY trailers. I am going in absolutely blind, no spoilers, not live and no chat. It's just me and the game! This is going to be a very thorough playthrough with lots of talks about the characters and what I think of them, my own theories on the story and so on, so if you're interested in that, subscribe for more and like the videos if you enjoy! HERE WE GO!! REBIRTH IS HERE! Welcome to my first playthrough of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! These are not streams, it's just me playing the game on my own So please don't spoil anything for me in the comments! I have never played the original FF7 nor Crisis Core, haven't played the demos and haven't seen the trailers. I'm basically a newbie baby in the FF franchise! I finished my first FF7 Remake playthrough a couple of weeks ago. (No spoilers) This is y I feel like it’s so important for people to have played previous titles. This game it marketed as a stand alone but it’s not. SO much of this game makes waaay more sense if you have. It’s good to go in blind but with the new timelines it makes you question everything, some of which requires no thinking (like this entire chapter) Crisis Core (or even the OG game) answers all of that. This game will present a lot of “wtf” moments and is likely to cause a. lot more confusion than it needs to. (Some of which the game never resolves / explains and you still won’t know unless you play the previous titles. Great reaction.

People who have played the OG game, people who have played only the Remake and Crisis Core, and a few that have only played the Remake. The theorizing and understanding of the story is going to be so different for all three, lol

Gosh I know I sound like I'm exaggerating but this is probably the best non-OG fan playthrough of this game and it's only episode 1. You're just so attentive to the story and clues and also so intune and empathetic with all the character motivations and feelings, as some fans have said I'm looking forward to your playthrough as much as I am for Maximiliandood's!

By far (and I really mean it), you noticed so many little but important subtleties than all the other non-OG/CC players combined... The developers would be so happy to see how sharp you are at discovering (or notice at least) the "easter eggs" :) I have still only played ch1 here (but was so curious to see non-OG reactions to Zack and the flashback), but since I know the story from way back, I guarantee you'll be even more amazed than you are now and it'll be totally worth it to see your reaction to the most important events. Some people can't help themselves UPD: It's funny how you've read ALL of the tutorials, except the very first one (1:36:31) which tells you what had changed compared to the previous game (Cloud now being able to shoot projectiles etc). Maybe you've figured that out later, I don't know yet 😅

Amazing. I knew this video would be good but you knocked it out of the park. Side note: you probably figured it out by now but Cloud can do ranged attacks by attacking immediately after a dodge. He'll also start a ranged combo if you hold the attack button after a dodge. These are good for flying enemies.😁

Love your theories at the beginning. All I’ll say is many of the things you brought up will probably be answered in this game. So excited to watch as I take a break from my own playthrough (on Chapter 7 right now and loving it). The open world can definitely suck you in on this one. I think I spent a good 10 hours in it on chapter 2, just running around and doing stuff 😂 Hope you are enjoying your playthrough and can’t wait to hear your continued thoughts and theories! Edit: you can turn the mini-map to always on in the settings menu btw. I prefer the mini map myself. 3:09:21 😂 yup, he uses his mother’s dying words to mock Cloud in Remake. Which is why Cloud is so pissed when he says them.

I can just say, that the theme you've said had a lot of variations, is the main theme aka Cloud's theme. The themes in FF7 change based on location, the emotions of the character, particular moments or even blend together with other themes as leitmotifs in some cases. For example, if you go back to to hear the track that's playing during Cloud's combat in the Nibelheim flashback, you'll notice the composers mixed the main theme with the battle theme from Remake. Same as soon as we meet Tifa, what is playing is her theme, but a country version of it. The theme we hear as soon as we enter in Nibelheim, is called "Anxious Heart/Anxiety", that one is also inserted in a lot of themes as a leitmotif, like in the moment when the flashback ended, everyone went to bed and you said that you felt teary eyed because of that theme.... and I forgot to mention that it's one of the most popular tracks in the original game. The one track that plays when we're for the first time heading towards the Shinra mansion at night (when we have to go check on Sephiroth), is a leitmotif of the main theme called "On That Day, Five Years Ago", all these are from the original game. God I love FF7🥹

I think this’ll probably be my favorite playthrough of Rebirth. Only Chapter 1 and it’s already so fun watching you unravel the story. Be careful not to assume everything from Remake is the same. If you recheck Cloud’s basic combat tutorial page you’ll see he has a new ranged attack, and he’s not the only character with a slight rework.

I loved all 3 hours of it all! So you're confused huh? You're experiencing OG goodness in remake form lol edit: Just a gameplay tip going forward. Please re-read the Cloud combat guide in the in-game manual, particularly the 2nd paragraph. It explains how to use Cloud's range attack and how his aerial combat works.

Yeah BABEEEEEEEEEEEHH!!!!!!! HEre we goo! The theories beggin. I'm 20 something hours in the game and i can't believe what i'm seeing or playing. The 400 tracks, the visuals, the lore.... Whims, this is gonna be your game this year, trust me. I hope you enjoy it as much as i am, and remember: from here, to the stars. I FORGOT: The game's waaaaaay too easy on "normal" to the point where you can't use all the mechanics that it gives you. IF you want a little bit of fun and challenge without being "hardcore", "Dynamic" is the best way to play it. And also, sometimes the music goes harder than the voices. I got it set up to "10" Voices, "8" Music. the rest in "10". And the dark places are REALLY dark. The game comes with "4" brightness from default, and for some reason, this makes the image look difuse and sometimes blurry. After touching things i think the best thing to do is to use it on "'0" in open areas, and "2" in dark areas. This are options that i found to be best, even for recording, so if it helps you , swell :D

As someone who has played the original. I am almost jealous now of people experiencing this and the confusion for the first time. Even though remake and rebirth differs slightly from the OG, 80-90 percent of it is still the same. It’s nice to see people experience this through modern technology in this medium. Also, whimsy is asking all great questions .

2:24:22 "Thank you game" 😂 Going into Rebirth, I wonder if the Square Enix devs knew about player's confusion in Remake about how they used the term "unique abilities". They really improved the tutorial texts in Rebirth. Showing the "triangle button" icon in the text is so simple but very effective.

I don't think it was ever officially said, but I've always been of the mind that Jenova herself directly influenced Sephiroth's insanity. Notice how his breath catches for a moment as the images flash right before he fully cracks, like there's a bit of a mental struggle going on. And when he starts walking, there's a super quick flash of Jenova's face overtop of Sephiroth's. Not 100% sure if that's what they were going for, but that's what it seems to look like, to me.

About Tifa being cut down by Sephiroth. The book Trace of Two Pasts outlines that Sephiroth slashing her severed bone and flesh so severely during the Nibelheim Incident required some major emergency treatment, including medical wire to close the gaps in her wounds. Once all was said and done, overly-expensive skin transplants were then used, closing up what should've been massive scarring from ever occurring.
