Yes, the actresses for Ana Lucia & Libby were caught drunk driving, and may have gotten into other trouble in Hawaii. But what's interesting is that recently, maybe within the last year or two, 2 different producers on the show said that Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia) insisted on only a one-year deal because she was still doing movies (remember, this was back when 'movie actors' almost never did tv, most of them looked down on it). One of the producers said when the rumors were came up that they were killed off because of their legal troubles, they deliberately didn't correct anyone because they were hoping that would prevent any other actors from getting into trouble, which could interfere with filming schedules and such.

Actually jj Abrams said he thought of having Claire die instead of Libby because he didn't want it to appear he was punishing the actors for the DUI'S. He ended up with going with the original storyline ( which was decided before the Dui's) because he had plans already in place for the Claire character he didn't want to change.

It should be pointed out that Libby and Ana being written out of the show had nothing to do with the DUI, which happened quite close to the airing of the episode.

@@avsambart Sure, if people had loved Ana or something, who knows what would have happened but as that wasn't the case, she had that part to play BUT Libby was thrown in there too in case the impact was not felt enough because of the dislike mentioned. I mean sure, in one hand you have the epic of our epoch and in the other a diseased pile of slimy crap. You sure showed them by not not knowing the difference. And for anyone in doubt of this genius at work, GoT seasons 5-8 were the bad ones, not just the last. There really is no difference between 7 & 8 for example but that sure is a fast way to spot the um, special among us. Good job, I mean, who needs any sort of sentence structure OR a logical throughline when you can just spout nonsense? :D

@@betlathane Plus it seems that a large percentage of people that hated it, or at least certain parts of it, actually didn't understand it even though a character literally explains that one key thing I'm talking about. Don't want to post spoilers, but I'm sure you know what I'm referencing.

@@p-forest Yeah, I'm sure it's a big contributing factor but even "going there" is part of a larger, circular issue which tends to betray a lack of actual participation, let alone previous affection. It's like they just hear something from a sixth party source and/or watched a part of an episode sometimes and then came back for a part of the finale which they "watched" while diddling who knows what. Even somewhat smart people seem to pass that turd around like it's hot but if they took these new-found critical perspectives and actually applied at the source (giggity) they found really be surprised and not only compared to their expectations but most of other stuff in general as well.. :P
