Lost Coast 4x4 Trial Subaru Forester Adventure

Off the boat for a bit and out in a Subaru Forester, 2011 5 speed manual
this is the Lost coast 4x4 trail or Usal Road, to Usal Beach and on North to shelter cove. fun two three day two night trip!

Used to be one of my fav, campgrounds, and rides. Then too many articles about its beauty, and then the party crowd came.....I haven't been back since 2020. The 20+ mi to shelter cove is great, on USAL road, (USA Lumber) lots of nice camping, near Shelter Cove.

Ah yes now the name makes sense USA Lumber! That second place I camped was not too far from Shelter cove. I did a ride up to gold lake 4x4 camp two weeks ago, that was a nice Mc trip! Are you still riding the Triumph

Tiger, still my favorite ride, going to San Jose, and Boulder Creek, on tiger today. We still have to do a taco run, and hit those super tite switchbacks, I was telling you about.

In 2017, you could still camp, on Usal beach, and you mite see 2 or 3 others. I camped in that thicket of trees, where you did, and was treated to a mating fight, by two huge Bull Elk, I have it on video, it was epic. But now, it is, what it is. And it is mostly, A southern CA, crowd, from what I could see.

You're right, they should close it so it could recover. Sad how people just abuse it.

It's sad it takes actions like that, such a nice place!

@@TRCAdventures There is an outhouse right off the side of the access road but really iffy. Should mention that driving on the beach (across the stream) is not allowed.

@@russeljavier yeah I saw that out house, it was packed full of trash, spilling out the door 😞
