Let me know which self-care option(s) you choose! And where do you normally eat your lunch or dinner? Self care for me will be playing guitar - I am learning and finding it very fun/challenging. We eat at the kitchen table and once in a while on the couch to watch a little KZbin 😊. Thank you SO much for the encouraging video ❤

I do the same, the kitchen table if anyone is home, but in front of the TV if Hubby is away or it’s a movie night!

Recently widowed, meals are in front of the tv, enjoying KZbin. As spring arrives -out on the deck of my apartment. Self-care for me is my gym time at least 2 x a week preferably 3. Grocery pickup and online shopping so I don’t stray from my list and remember the healthy choices and budget. I cook a full 4 portion meal - eat twice, freeze 2. Frozen veggies are easier to make just what I need. My skincare routine morning and night are my relaxing bookends of my day. Bedtime I read a little bit then Bible and prayers.

Self care - I changed my routine a month ago. I start the day with 10 minutes on a cross trainer to wake myself up, and I take 40-60 minutes out of the day to walk the dog to a local park for fresh air, exercise, trees and open space. It's been a game-changer for me, I have so much more energy for getting everything else done. Also, I have an allotment and the reward of spending time outdoors and seeing things grow is a joy. Sow some seeds, tend them, watch them grow. Often caring for something else can fill your own cup ❤

I followed the Fly Lady system years ago when my children were young and I worked outside of the home full time. As time went on and the children moved out it slowly left my daily routine. I love that I have found you. It gives me the motivation to start again. Simple things like decluttering/cleaning one drawer at a time or emptying the dishwasher when it has finished so we can put the dirty dishes away. It is amazing how much accumulates with just two people in the house. THANK YOU for your always smiling face.

Self-care: paying myself compliment. I keep seeing messages about being kind to me, loving myself. Instead of saying should, could, better, i say yes i deserved time to "play" and rest. In tge past i convinced myself only selfish people think they deserve anything because selfish people were telling me they deserved my time and money. I have learned during this season i do deserve without other people's intent.

4 weeks into the year, 2 out of 4 werks included unexpected and expected guests. Putting away christmas and doing deep clean in guest room. I got most done but didnt get everything accomplished. I can hit those not done areas when i clean that space weekly between now and next deep clean in 6 months. Today i had the spoons to do the swish and wipe of main floor bath and kutchen counters - a daily task i had not gotten to during guest time and recovery (i used all my spoons last week thru Tuesday and took Wednesday and before daughter's appointment yesterday as recovery and recharge that included crafting, reading, watching TV and cell phone). February will be deep clean of office space and a dumping spot for things i dont have a place. The waiter has arrived, i must pay this bill of dump and run lol!!! Watching while sat at my desk for the first time in over 5yrs (still in the middle of my early midlife declutter). Thanks for keeping me company through all this, Diane. I get confused with fly lady about the different types of session: power hour, detailed lean, weekly upkeep, swish & swipe, focus on a zone/zones/not, etc. I really appreciate the self-care ideas, especially at this time of year! I’ve booked 1.5 weeks leave from work starting just after Valentine’s Day for a bit of a rest and recharge to get me through the rest of winter into early spring as a self-care top-up. Love your cosy crime suggestions. You’ve inspired me to start a list of TV I regularly like to watch - sunny settings, cosy crime, military, quizzes & period/literary adaptations. BBC’s strike was good this series.
