Among the best of all your reviews as it is great to view for an average landlocked older surfer. Want to get this board!

How would it compare to a puddle fish? This one is even more for low end? Thanks!

I have a PF and wondering the same. I LOVE my PF. I have had it for around 3 years now and don't really want to upgrade but if this Hydra is an upgrade...

Ride and reviews rule! Appreciate you guys! How does this compare to the puddle fish and rnf retro? Aloha
@REALmattnuzzo4 жыл бұрын
Good question. The Hydra is a lot flatter and fuller template than both. This board is designed for the bottom of the barrel groveller waves. We have been using the Hydra for the knee to chest high waves. The RNF Retro won't have as much low end but will have some more top end since it has more rocker, a narrower nose and tail. The Puddle Fish is the most rocketed out and doesn't have that much low end range. It likes to have more push but it does have the shortest radius turn.

I’ve had a puddlefish since they came out and loved It.. I’ve recently got a bean bag, which obviously has been out for like 4 or 5 years... and I think the bean bag is amazing in small waves! This board looks great but I needn’t look any further than my bean bag!

Isn't the Puddle Fish such a great board? Anything up to chest high it just rips.

I always wanted a bean bag. I almost bought one a couple years ago and haven't seen one since. I just bought a Hydra and I've been digging it, but I love the Bag

i really don’t like my puddle fish and i’m trying to replace it with this or a seaside which would y’all pick?
@REALWatersports3 жыл бұрын
If you don't like the puddle fish, go with a seaside.

What is the rider's height and weight and the board size he chose? Trying to gauge the dims here

I’ve got the 5’9 and feels a bit heavy. My 5’11 seaside feels a lot lighter

I've a 5'8 og puddle jumper, size felt about right, what would you suggest size wise?
@REALWatersports4 жыл бұрын
Hey A T, since your 5'8" Puddle Jumper felt good we would recomend going just an inch shorter with the 5'7" Hydra which has 34.5 liters.
@AT-eq7dy4 жыл бұрын
@@REALWatersports ah right, so drop the volume for similar speed/ small wave game as a PJ but maintain manoeuvrability, or go same volume as my PJ for better small wave game, sacrificing a little manoeuvrability...sounds like that's the options?
@REALWatersports4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Of the two choices we'd recommend getting the Hydra at the same volume as your PJ. The Hydra is still really maneuverable even at full grovel volume. Hope that helps - Jake

How would this board compare to the vernor minisimmons which has a bit more upper range than the beanbag? Thanks!
@REALmattnuzzo4 жыл бұрын
This is going to be in the same range as the Mini Simmons. Flat, fast and loads of glide. The Hydra is a step up in glide, speed, and turning than the Bean Bag. It also will take a touch more to get going but not much.

Puddle Fish vs Hydra? Go!
@REALmattnuzzo4 жыл бұрын
Puddle Fish... can rip turns but takes some power to get going. Hydra glides into waves and can be surfed in smaller waves but still handles the days with some more juice.
