Ron,... Thank you for the 4th of July present! I Love the higher resolution launch / flight sequence. I thought you had all but given up on the 'Jupiter 2' with all your efforts going into the "Odyssey" project. It's nice to see you relax and change the pace up a little. Hope you have a nice 4th,.... and a great summer!

Thanks Kapt! Another viewer suggested I do a "Return to Earth" scenario in which a battered J2 finally makes it back home. I just may do that..

Looks great! If you do the crash landing remember to have the J2 go behind some rocks.....

I've been thinking about it. That would be a fun challenge to get it to look as good as the original though!

Just curious, does anyone know why the Jupiter 2 is sometimes depicted as glowing when in flight and other times not. Here it is shown both ways but its not clear to me what might cause the transition from glowing to not.
@Haselius009 жыл бұрын
PSS1963 Generally, the Jupiter 2 glowed when it was taking off under full power. The TV show was inconsistent but fans usually agree that a full power take-off was dangerous to the crew unless they were in the freezing tubes. That's one reason why some fans support the idea that Dr. Smith became increasingly unstable over the course of the series. He was exposed to the radiation of a full-power take-off when he was trapped aboard the ship when it left Earth. He never was quite the same murderous traitor he was in the pilot episode.
