Hello Mr Crilley, Formosan here Just saw the local news reporting on your book today, Oct/09/2023 Thank you for the love letter, the drawings in your video are exquisite. I can feel the bustling energy of your night market. Oh and the book cover!❤ the little “Tu-di gong 土地公/local land god” shrine with the banyan tree, and the egret (in my grand parent’s time, those birds would be sitting on backs of water buffalos that we raise to aid rice farming) in the rice field! That made my hair jump! You really captured our past traditions and meandering present. Really put a smile on my face, so thank you.❤ Come back any time, so we may tell you welcome home.

Water buffalos are still a huge part of Formosan cultural icon, representing tenacity and diligence. 水牛精神、that’s how we call it. If you Google “ 黃土水+水牛群像“ you’ll find one of our treasured water Buffalo wall sculpture in our national museum from 1930. From whence we were just an agricultural society, Which still exist in some parts of Taiwan. FYI, come visit Kaohsiung next time!

As a very long time fan of your work (pre Brody's Ghost), I am pleased to say that I have just ordered this beautiful new work. I am excited to add it to the Crilley collection that lives on my bookshelf. I also must let you know that my son has gotten into making comics. He had some drawing books of how to draw his favourite characters from tv shows but used them once and put them down after a week. I gave him your books, the drawing lesson and the comic book lesson.... He basically sleeps with them as they are his treasures. He's 7 and had looked at the mastering manga series (in the Crilley section) and thought they were cool, but the lessons series books were bought for him (for the appropriate timing) and as soon as he opened them.... it was like he was sucked into a different world like a scene from the pagemaster film lol. So thank you for all the amazing stories you give and knowledge you share.

It looks like a really good book, it's one of those books or even TV\anime series, that just by the name and the cover, you can guess that there's going to be an interesting plot!!!. And from the scene you read it seems that you are not afraid to let the characters breathe and let the reader get to know and live the character,... that bought me!
