Yes, I am finding this new AI generated music technology quite mind boggling, as well. It's crazy what it can do!

Are you kidding me? This “song” is terrible. It sounds like uninspired radio pop except even worse.

@@mozarkozark Everyone has their own personal tastes. I think this AI song sounds really good, myself; but, then again it is a style of music I like. 🙂 The AI application that I used can actually create music in many different music styles I think it is quite impressive what it can do already, and it is still in its early stages of development right now. That's just my own opinion though, of course.

Art is fundamentally about human communication. AI generated music is less than silence.

I would say art is something that can move people in one way or another. It doesn't really matter how it was created. Some people seem to like what they are hearing...

I don't care if AI or a real human made a piece of art. But it's kinda funny how artists are triggered by it. That's the best part of the internet.

Yes, some people do seem to have a knee jerk reaction to anything AI created, that it automatically must be bad overall and must be terrible quality... 🙂

A hammer needs an arm to swing it. A switch needs a hand to flip it. A computer needs a mind to program it. And our AI children need loving parents to nurture them. We haven't made ourselves completely obsolete just yet.

Yes, I view AI as a new tool that can help make our job easier in certain areas. It's also just very cool to see what it can do! If some people abuse that tool, it's not really the tool's fault. 🙂

Well , this is interesting. I'm getting a Peter Gabriel vibe here. So , did you have anything to do with this , as far as programming , writing lyrics etc. I see where it says AI generated , but my knowledge of anything technical or computer related stuff is stone-age level , at best . You might explain it and it'll probably go right over my head😂 , but it's pretty cool ; and those lyrics are a tad ironic ,haha.
@DreamArtScientists10 ай бұрын
Ha ha, yes, it is kind of mind boggling that AI tech can create such sophisticated lyrics and music, and, yes, this song is ironic. I thought it would be fun to have AI criticizing itself. 😄 I provided the theme of what the song should be about as a text prompt for the AI application, and the AI application generated the lyrics. I created a few different parts for the song using the AI application, and did a little lyric rearranging, but the majority of the lyrics are direct as they were generated by the AI application. 🙂Thanks for the feedback, Kenny!

I think that we don't have a good way to reimburse those who developed the 'ingredients' these AI were mixing, and I worry that this trend will last far too long for basically every position around it.
@DreamArtScientists10 ай бұрын
Well, one way to look at it is most/all artists are influenced by and inspired by other artists who came before them. AI is taking that same sort of thing forward on a larger scale and creating new art that way. 🙂
@measlyfurball3710 ай бұрын
It's interesting that there's a relative lack of structure in the song. You'd think that an AI would prefer to create something with more rigid parameters. Instead, everything kind of wonders between stages, not really going back and revisiting ideas or building on anything. I wonder if that's indicative of generative AI's fundamental problem- a lack of "planning ahead", so to speak. It's only "guessing" the next notes ahead, not really coming at things with a dedicated plan in mind. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about any of this! My understanding of current tech is surface level, and I don't know much specifically about the AI and the methods you used.)
@DreamArtScientists10 ай бұрын
Someone else commented on that, as well. Good observation. It think it's because the AI application I used (Suno v3) currently allows only creating a max 2 minute length song audio clip for the initial song generation, and then you have to use its feature to add on to the original song by creating max 1 minute song extensions. Currently the song extension feature is a bit glitchy, and there is a trial and error process involved when generating extensions to the original song clip to try to find a generated extension that carries on the original song clip feel reasonably well. The technology is still in its very early stages though, so no doubt that will continue to be improved upon.

AI can only imitate what we've already made. The frontier is still there, AI is just a distraction from our chance to explore new lands... At least musically. I'm fucking terrified of AI police.
@barrygillis10 ай бұрын
Humans can only imitate what we've already made.To boldly go where some cliches have been on the way, we will find new lands! And universes! But the danger, the danger! There is no ai, only tools. they may be used by people, and they may be used against people, by the people. Nothing new, same old shit.
@DreamArtScientists10 ай бұрын
@KramerPacer83 Yes, AI art and AI music as it currently is does depend on its 'knowledge' (models) of what currently exists and creates 'new' art by drawing from that, so, yes, it is really just arranging parts of things that already exist. Frankly, though, a lot of music and art these days is also just drawing from and rearranging to various degrees what has already been done. 🙂 There are very few true innovators out there. Going forward, improvements may be made to AI towards becoming 'AGI' (Artificial General Intelligence) which will have more ability to learn and create new things, more like what humans can do. It will be interesting to see how things progress in this area.
@DreamArtScientists10 ай бұрын
@@barrygillis Yes, I view AI as tools that help make tasks such as creating art and music easier. Like all tools, AI has limitations on what can be done with it, and there is nothing really stopping humans from adding in their own creative input onto what AI can help them produce to still create something new and innovative.
