Watched _Escape to Victory_ so many times on TV when I was a kid. Germans never stood a chance against that PoW XI. Loved Ossie Ardilles when he was running around for Spurs in the 80s. Been talk about a remake for years. Imagine if they got Messi & Ronaldo on the same (movie) team lol...

They don't make films like that anymore! It would be great to see Messi & Ronaldo in a remake, I'd certainly be curious enough to buy a ticket! By the way, have you ever seen, "Mean Machine" with Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham? It's a soccer re-working of the Burt Reynolds football film, "The Longest Yard". Stay Gold, Retro Man.

@ Oh yeah, I saw Mean Machine but can’t remember a damn thing about it. From memory it was kinda glib compared to The Longest Yard, which is a pretty heavy film. Hope Burt got well paid for the Adam Sandler remake lol

I don't remember "Mean Machine" much either, but I do have it on DVD somewhere. Yes, I'm sure Sandler threw Burt a few bucks to help him out with his bankruptcy issues - lol. Stay Gold, Retro Man.
