Loving this song, just from how it's from the perspective of Sonic slowly losing his mind to the demonic voice inside his head, and while we don't directly see it, it can be implies that Sonic lost, considering Xenophanes singing the same song with Majin with sonics vocals in the background, almost mocking his attempts at control. Loving how Dingus is building his own lore within these songs, and it's kind of scary that not even Majin could interrupt this one...

@@NominalDingus so basically this isn’t xeno more like xenos subconscious keeping sonic at bay while he deals with majin and others. As sad as it is to say right now sonic can’t fight off xeno but with bf and egg man resisting him along with majin it’s only a matter of time before he’s strong enough. If I had to guess this is all leading to a confrontation between sonic and xeno maybe with a remix of confronting yourself. If so here’s an idea. While one version of confronting yourself has sonic go super in the end which is fitting it would be cool if he starts out as dark sonic in the beginning then transitions into normal sonic in the middle before going super then hyper in the end defeating xeno.

It sounds like Sonic is in excruciating pain, even though we only hear him happy, a bit angry or chill, and idk why, but it just gives me a goddamn sad feeling, and holy shit Sonic sounds like he was actually voiced by one of Sonics official voice actors. I generally don’t know why I love this song so much, from the glitched warped backgrounds (including the glitched Green Hill Zone background), to the warped face of Xain that you can’t make out as an actual being, as if it’s buried in Sonic’s mind and him not being able to properly decipher who they are. Next I’m going to talk about the actual breakdown Sonic has at about 1/3 of the way into the song, generally depicting the loss of control in his own mind and the struggle to break free from Xeno/Xain, and finally, the vocals and music, the music displays a general feeling of loss and discomfort and Sonic’s voice reeks of struggle and sadness, but his vocals are crafted so well, it’s so difficult to stop replaying the song. A true Masterpiece! :)

I find this more important than ironic Lost to Time and Lost my mind happen at the same time. The song lengths (in vocals/inst) is able to round to about 3m and 38s. In Lost to Time, you can (slightly) hear sonic through xeno. In Lost to Time, sonic is trying to break out of Xenophanes' control, while Majin tries to see if he can come to a deal with Xenophanes. Ironic theory imo.

Y'know, I dont know why that other person would try to remake this masterpiece. this sounds absolutely amazing and theres nothing you could make that would be better than this version. Plus the remake sounds NOTHING like this too! Ik I'm very late to this, but the way the ending of Lost my Mind and Lost to Time are *exactly* the same makes me love that they canonically happen at the same time. It's almost like Majin can hear what Sonic is singing here, and he does it to as a sort of reassurance; a sort of "Don't worry, Sonic, our fight is one and the same".

The amount of emotional pain and grief that is apparent in this song is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I listen to this song for one time and now I got it on loop for like 5 hours. (I’m being hella serious) This song has so much SOUL put into it and I can only congratulate the composer for such a thing. Everything just sounds so damn GOOD! Even the sudden outburst “Get out of my head!” Completely caught me off guard, that was some amazing voice acting for that part. A song like this would very well deserve its own personal mod. A small idea I had was when sonic lets out his sudden outburst clones of Xain circle around Sonic within his mind, further causing the emotional stress. You did one hell of a job with this song Nominal, fuckin’ props man!

So, this is what I think the story that Nominal has set up. It all starts at the song “Too Slow”. This start off the story by showing how sonic. exe has killed Sonic’s friends. Then, after BF defeats him, the song then goes to “You Can’t Run”. Sonic.exe then gets mad after being defeated, and starts to show his true form (you can see the tiny purple spikes on his back in the canceled 3.0 sonic.exe mod). Then, BF defeats sonic.exe again. Sonic.exe then transforms into Xenophanes out of anger. Sonic.exe (now Xenophanes), summons Sonic’s friends to fight BF in hopes of defeating him. Dispute everything, BF comes out victorious, setting the souls of Sonic’s friends free. The story moves over to “Old Habits”. Eggman fights Xenophanes in his weakened state, and in 2:45 of the song, Xenophanes weakens even more, and sonic starts to, forced by Xenophanes, song with Xeno. Then, the story moves to “Lost To Time”. Majin fights Xenophanes and weakens him just enough for sonic to try to break free from sonic.exe’s grasp. The final song, “Lost My Mind”, sonic fights Xian (check pinned comment for more info on him), and with the help of all his friends trying to save him, he is motivated to break free. After a tough battle against emotions and depression, sonic finally breaks free from evil. (Once again, this is just what I think of what Nominal has done with these beautiful songs, I’m not saying any of this is true.)

Ok I just came up with a side story thanks to this song.So imagine That Xain is done with all of the dirty work and finished his business...What if he did absorb Sonic and took control? He gives him his form back with the cost of him staying and remaining in his head. Sonic sees all of the horrible things Xain has done and thinks this is all in his head..But The voice in his head (aka Xain) tells him all the things he’s done with his body.Killed and tormented his friends,Ravaged the lands and played people like puppets.Sonic think this was all an illusion and doesn’t buy.The more Xain tells him about all of the horrible things he’s done,The more Sonic loses his mind and starts to think everything that happened was true. I love these songs so goddamn much and Sonics line was so strong! That’s what I love about your music dude! The more you listen,the better chances of making a short story. Keep up the grind Dude!

It’s almost scary how much emotion this song portrays, we see Sonic clearly trying to keep calm and collected only to get enraged and fight back with all his might at 0:53. But in the end whatever he can or does do ends up being futile as he’s slowly drained out. Meanwhile at the same time Xain keeps his composure and maintains the same vocals the entire time, showing regardless of how much Sonic tries to fight back it’s futile in comparison to him.

1:31 to 1:43 Either I've been watching too many covers of it, or this sounds just like a part of Phantasm from Chaos Nightmare. Which I appreciate cause that is literally one of my favorite mods/songs besides this. My favorite part might be when sonic yelled "GET OUT OF MY HEEAAAAAD!" Cause it really shows how Sonic has "lost his mind" This song has a really stinging feeling to it, considering everything Sonic has went through in terms of things like .EXE. Nobody left except the echoes in the deepest and darkest parts in his mind.
